I voted never had a problem but after I thought about it, we did have one problem. DH is a paintball player and we were there during the World Cup of Paintball at WWoS (coincidence? I think not, lol!). It took DH almost 1.5 hours each way from POFQ!! Pretty long considering it was a less then 20 min. drive by taxi! But on the other hand we had a couple of AWESOME drivers who made the trip to the parks fly by! One did an ongoing trivia/riddle session with the passengers that went over really well, except with my know-it-all DS who was embarrassed that he didn't know the answer to his riddle, lol!

Have used the bus from BWV and S/D. Like BWV because there is an attendant there to let you know when the next bus should be arriving. Saw a person there in the am during park openings- not sure if they stay throughout the day. Do not like the loop through all the hotels. BW, BC, S/D all share the same bus. At busy times you may go express, other times you are stopping. On HOT days out group prefers to stay on the bus to keep cool, but I would prefer a quicker return to my hotel.

How are the buses from Wilderness Lodge?

Are they like Animal Kingdom Lodge with their own bus system, or do they share with Poly or Contemperary?

We stayed at the Pop Century in June, and the bus system was terrific! A plus of staying at this resort is that there are NO stops between there and the parks--just straight there or straight back!

I agree about POP the bus service is great & fast BUT (and yes I am saying it) the ECV issue stinks. I think they should have they're own bus. I've seen it all, one disabled or elderly person & the 20 people with them that ALL must board 1st & take up the whole bus. The one pretend disabled person who gets on & then gets OFF the EVC & takes a seat so the rest of us standing & holding a baby or toddler must try not to fall. i think if they had they're own bus this would resolve soooooo many issues. :headache:

Why did you have to go down this road?:headache: Stupid me still replies:

FYI if a person is able to get off their ecv and take a seat on the bus, they are required to for safety reasons. No one in their right mind would pretend to need an ECV at Disney, there are no benefits to it, and they are a big pain to use. It is too bad that so many people seem to think that people with disabilities should be segregated on to their own busses, like they are such a nusence to have around.
:sad2:
And if you have a baby and get on a bus that is standing room only, shame on you. You can always wait for the next bus.

I heard Disney was working on a GPS system, that would give you a clock at each bus stop, that would tell you how many minutes until the next bus pulls in.

A GPS would be awesome. After using DTD hotel transportation, Disney transportation is a god send. I've never had any major issues with it and I am planning to use it again this summer.

:goodvibes

I've had good and bad issues with the bus system at WDW. When we stayed at ASM we had no problems but the following year we had to change resorts because we are a family of 5 and headed over to POR:scared1: POR is gorgeous and we love the resort to death but yes the buses need work. The buses that took forever were just at night at closing and were from MK and DMGM and Epcot. We finally figured it out that we always stayed at the parks a little longer after closing and looked in the shops and waited for the lines to shrink. Sometimes though this didn't help at all....

interesting.... looks like 65% are happy with bus system. :surfweb:

I think that's a pretty good number for a simple poll like this. :wizard:

For 30+ years I've always marveled at the efficiency and service of the Bus Transportation at WDW!

Are you serious? While I'm sure there is abuse of the ECVs in WDW most that are on them, need them. I can't imagine having a bus just for those who are challenged in some way. The one thing I would want to see changed is that only the person in the ECV gets to board first. The rest of their party should have to wait to board with everyone else. I have seen too many ECV riders get boarded with about 10 or so family members hopping on with them. But, to say that they should have their own bus is ridiculous. If it bothers anyone, they are free to rent a car. I have an issue with those families who board the bus with those huge strollers, making it next to impossible to stand or get around them.

Now, on to the resorts and bus service...
the values have pretty decent bus service. The AllStars share with each other, with Movies sometimes having their own bus.
The moderates are decent....because of the size of the resorts, there are multiple bus stops within each resort..which can slow down the progress.
The deluxes that have other forms of transportation to the parks...ie..BW,YC/BC have either boats to Epcot/Studios or they can walk, GF, Polyesian have boats as well as monorail to MK, CR can monorai or walk to MK...they will have slightly lesser bus transportation. Those resorts can all access the TTC to get to Epcot via the Epcot monorail line.
POP is good because it shares buses with no one, same with AKL.

So, it all depends on what you're looking for. I have found that the bus system works quite well. Yes, it does get crowded at park opening as well as park closing. And the buses to DTD can all take longer to come and go. But all in all, the buses do a fine job.
