Rate my ADR's please!

Soooooo, this is our first time on the DDP instead of QSDP and we're testing out lots of new restaurants. How do yall feel about this schedule?

Sat Sept 1st, Epcot Nine Dragons dinner, QS lunch at Liberty Inn

Sun Sept 2nd, Magic Kingdom The Plaza dinner, QS lunch at Tomorrowland Terrace

Mon Sept 3rd, Hollywood Studios Brown Derby lunch fantasmic package. QS dinner at ABC Commissary

Tues Sept 4th, QS meals at POR for breakfast and dinner, day spent at UIOA

Wed Sept 5th, QS meal at POR for breakfast, lunch at beach, dinner at BOMA

Thurs Sept 6th, QS meals at POR for breakfast, dinner. Lunch at USF

Fri Sept 7th, Animal Kingdom Rainforest Cafe for lunch, TREX DTD for dinner

Sat Sept 8th, Magic Kingdom QS lunch at I dunno where....and Hollywood studios SCI FI dinner.


How do those sound? And any suggestions for the quick service lunch at Magic Kingdom? Thanks!!!

for starters, some of that is going to be cash, out of pocket. Your schedule indicates you're there 7 nights, so that's only 7 table service and 7 quick service.

You're listing 8 credits worth of TAble service (Brown Derby is 2 credits per person) And for quick service, you're listing 9 quick service meals. If you really do have only 7 table service credits, I would pay cash at The Plaza...will be the cheapest table service by a long shot.

At Epcot, I'd go to Sunshine Seasons for lunch...lots of non-traditional fast food choices (like pork chop/mashed potatoes/green beans...or Asian platters. Plus fabulous desserts from the bakery counter.) Liberty Inn is all the way around to the top of World Showcase...which is probably a long ways from where you'll be at lunch time...you'd probably be finishing up Future World at about lunch time so Sunshine Seasons in The Land would be more convenient. Liberty Inn is basically a burger place...

POR has some really delish options for lunch & dinner: we love the choose-your-own toppings pasta bar. If you have smaller appetites, that can actually be split...they pack a lot of pasta/sauce/toppings in those boxes. You can also split the breakfast platter...we found it way too much food for one person.

We like both Rainforest Cafe & T-Rex, but again, we found the serving sizes to be huge there. And the prices are high, so these restaurants are a good value for your table service credits.

At Magic Kingdom, if you're on the race-car side of the park, we love Cosmic Rays...the chicken/bbq ribs platter is good. If we're near Haunted Mansion, we love Columbia Harbor House for the fish choices...like the tuna sandwiches. And if you're in Frontierland, Pecos Bills has a good taco salad, and love the burgers there with the toppings bar.

Well - I'm not a Big Park Hopper Fan.... IMHO... park hoppers are for ppl who:

1. Go to WDW ALL the time
2. Don't "get" the Disney magic and just want to ride roller coasters
3. Have no children

So park hoppers may be fine for your vacation goals....

So on Day 1 - you are going from Epcot to MK?

Day 2 and Day 3 look GREAT !!! I LOVE the F! Package and have done all 3.

Other days are fine but on the last day you are hopping again...

My Favorite QS dining at MK is Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland. IMHO it has the best selection and also Free Entertainment courtesy of Sonny Eclipse the Lounge Lizard...

I think you're confusing Liberty Inn with Liberty Tree Tavern. Liberty Inn is the QS at the American Pavilion in Epcot. Liberty Tree Tavern is the TS in Liberty Square. Wow! That's a lot of liberties!

Speaking of Liberty Tree Tavern, I would recommend that over The Plaza if you are going to use a TS credit. IMO, the lower cost meals at The Plaza are not worthy of a TS Credit.

I forgot I had looked at Cosmic Ray's and considered it an option. It sounds like lots of good choices for my picky husband. He doesn't do any vegetable of any sort typically, lol. We will have 8 table service credits, and 8 quick service credits. I planned all my table service meals accordingly so that I didn't have to pay anything OOP except for tips. I know we'll have to pay for at least one QS meal OOP....I think I'll do that at POR so the big entrees can be split. Thanks for your advice Ohhhh and Liberty Inn at Epcot is kinda a must do. They have these apple blossoms that the whole family loves. They're so good! Otherwise I'm pretty clueless as far as Epcot. Liberty Inn is the only place we've eaten there.

The last day we are there we are only park hopping because of the Night Of Joy. MK closes at 7 so we'll be heading over to Hollywood Studios after lunch. I've been looking at Mythos in the food pics thread on here. Their food looks amazing! About how expensive is it there? I'm dying to try the blueberry and pistachio crusted grilled pork.

I would not really call Liberty Tree Tavern a "must do" but I think it is the best TS in MK. MK really is lacking in TS restaurants, although that is about to change (hopefully!) with the expansion of Fantasyland. Unfortunately, this will not help with your trip.

Many people like the Crystal Palace. It is a buffet with Pooh Bear and friends. I personally do not like buffets, so we avoid that one.

I have heard mixed reviews about Tony's Town Square but have never tried it. You can also do Cinderella's Royal Table, but that requires 2 TS credits.

Honestly, when we go to MK, we generally make an ADR at one of the monorail resorts. Our favorite is O'hana in the Polynesian. This is about the only restaurant that we consider a "must do". You may have a hard time getting an ADR for September, but you can try. From the MK, you can either take the monorail or a boat. The boat may be quicker.

I would second what everyone else has said about The Plaza, while it's OK, it's nothing really special. Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner will be a Thanksgiving type meal served family style. We like to either walk over to the Contemporary to eat at The Wave or take the monorail to the Polynesian to have dinner at 'Ohana or Kona Cafe

Since you are having dinner at TREX and the menus are similiarish, I would have lunch at Tusker House. It's a fun character buffet with great food!

We prefer Prime Time 50's or Mama Melrose to Sci Fi, but if you stick to just burgers and fries you should be ok.

This is just personal to our family, but we have to have a hot dog at Casey's when we go, so we usually have our counter service meal there. Hope that helps out, but what do I know, I am a park hopper

I've booked Mythos for my UIOA day, and Finnegans for the USF day. I was reading the pictures of food for universal threads and their food looked amazing!

Thanks for the info on Mythos. I booked it, and am hoping it tastes as good as it looks! And hoping it's pretty affordable. There will be four of us and I'll be footing the bill.

Don't take the ferry...that goes to the Transportation and Ticket Center, then you would have to walk over to the Polynesian...not a very pleasant walk (hot & busy area)

You have two options from Magic Kingdom to the Polynesian: take the Resort Monorail (make sure you're going on the resort monorail...there's two of them there, and one goes to resorts, the other goes to the TRansportation and Ticket Center.) The Resort monorail is very convenient to get to Kona Cafe...you get off the monorail on the 2nd floor of the main building at Poly...and walk into the hotel, Kona Cafe is on your left as you come into the hotel. OR, go past the monorails and down over to the right for the Resort Boats...there's a boat that goes to Grand Floridian and Polynesian...very pleasant boat ride..however, once you get off the boat, you have to walk through the resort, past the swimming pool and into the main building, then up the stairs or the elevator to the 2nd floor to get to Kona.

Like the PP said, you can take the monorail or the resort boat. The boat ride is pleasant but you do have to walk a ways to the lobby and Kona.

Whether you go to the TTC by boat or the Poly by boat (after stopping at the Grand Floridian that is), the walk is fairly equal.

Also, I haven't seen any one comment on it (maybe my reading skills are down), but the ABC Commissary is possibly the worst meal at all of WDW. I ate there once (sadly) and that was enough for me. Really bad.

I disagree! I remember hearing bad reviews about ABC Commissary in the past, but I think that has since changed. Anyway, we usual eat lunch there when we are at HS. I enjoy their chicken curry.

I disagree! I remember hearing bad reviews about ABC Commissary in the past, but I think that has since changed. Anyway, we usual eat lunch there when we are at HS. I enjoy their chicken curry.

I haven't eaten there since I was a little kid so I'm willing to give it a shot. We ate at Pizza Planet last time and were seriously not impressed. I didn't like the Backlot Express or whatever it is either. It's probably all in what I ordered though.
