Rate Changes Question

When a resort is booked that starts in high season and ends in value season, you are expected to pay the high season rates for the entire stay. My question is, why can you book the same nights on sights like travelocity that lets you pay the price in effect for that particular night? For example: December 31st is high season and January 1 - 4 is value season. Disney wants me to pay the high season rate all of the nights. Travelocity, on the other hand, lets me pay the high season rate on the 31st and the value season rate on the other nights. Will Disney honor my reservation this way?

It works both ways if you book through Disney, sounds like you are on the losing end though (if you arrive in Value and stay through premium, you pay value the whole time).

You can get around this by making 2 separate WDW reservations. The only way it won't work is if you want dining the whole time.

I am arriving in High and leaving in Value. I am paying $579.48 for December 31st through the night of January 4th (5 nights). I have never been to Disney before. I just hope I am getting a good deal. Can you get tickets cheaper than $704 dollars for a 5 day park hopper pass anywhere?
