Ratatouille is Opening!

I wasn't too surprised. When Galaxy's Edge opened, it was also the first day of Food and Wine, wasn't it? Gives people a consolation prize if they couldn't get a park pass into MK that day.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they open Space 220 then too. Even though there is very limited dining at WDW right now. They want to maximize profits and have as many guests as possible when it opens. Hopefully they open it before for a month or so, so they can work any kinks out. I know everything went smooth when they opened Topolino’s Terrace. Epcot is no where near the 35% capacity Disney is allowing. I know Disney is being very cautious on capacity at theme parks and restaurants.

Honestly, I hope FP either doesn't return or is at least changed to be more like Disneyland's Maxpass system. Really, the lines are so.much more manageable without FP.

Not to get anyone more exited or anything but I rode it at Disneyland Paris and it was unbelievably amazing! Like nothing I had ever been on before! And good for any age! Can’t wait!!!

I rode it at Disneyland Paris and was a little bit underwhelmed. Your post gives me hope that I was just in a bad mood that day lol.

I kinda get the impression that Ratatouille was an innovative screen-based ride when it 1st opened, plus it’s a perfect fit for Paris.

But, screen-based ride tech has advanced a lot since then so it may not have the “wow” factor it once had.

I’m thrilled to be getting a new ride, especially when they didn’t replace an old ride. But, I prefer to have lower expectations of a new ride, that way I usually enjoy it.
(I had very low expectations of Navi River, it exceeded them so I kinda enjoy it as a different, relaxing experience with a great animatronic)

My daughter and I were fortunate enough to ride it a few times when it was in soft opening in DLP and it was just wonderful. Like guardians in DL, we laughed nonstop during the ride-pure fun. Screen based sells it short-it’s also wild trackless motion and great sets and physical effects like heat and water.

We went in Paris in 2019. I give it a “nice” rating. I liked the movie. I would be excited to ride again.

We loved it, too! Rode it a couple summers ago numerous times and laughed all the way through.

I hope the single rider line will be open. In Paris, while the attraction can have very long queues on busy days, the single rider line is almost always 5 minutes, rarely longer than 15 (when it happens, probably better be out of the park anyway).
The ride vehicles have two lines of three seats, so like test track, any group with 2, 4 or 5 people is going to create a seat or two for a single rider. Single rider is most of the time quicker than using a FP.
If social distancing will still be a thing by October, and they allow only one group per mouse, they're goig to waste a lot of capacity and it'll be a nightmare for crowds.

It is a good ride, take it like a next generation Fantasyland ride. But it's not blow-your-mind-amazing. I've not experienced RotR or the Mickey ride at the studios yet, but both the other two trackless rides in Shangay (Battle for the sunken treasure) and Tokyo (Winnie the Pooh Hunny Hunt) are in another league.

RoTR is similar. So those who have ridden that won't be mind blown.

But then again Pooh's Honey Hunt came out in 2000 and was mind blowing at the time. It took the US 19 years to get the trackless ride that first debuted in Japan in 2000.

Yay! I wish it was sooner than that but it makes sense since some of the other big attractions won’t be opening by then either.

My wife and I rode it in Disneyland Paris as well. I’m in between Timandalicia (“unbelievably amazing”) and TinkB278 (“a little bit underwhelmed”). It was a solid ride (WITH NO LINE). The no line may have been the timing of our trip (January 2019). We rode it about 6 times over two days. It was lots of fun & the entire area was themed really well. Looking forward to riding it in Epcot.
