Rarest character you've met

I just updated the FREQUENCY page... the character categories are based on their sightings in the last 6 months.

Characters not listed, but did show up recently at the marathon, include:
Ludwig
Barbossa
Big Bad Wolf
Fiddler Pig
Practical Pig
Fifer Pig
Darkwing Duck

I am certainly jealous of anyone who have marked them off on their lists!

Anyone not listed has not made regular appearances since Fall 2008

Happy Hunting!

I was wondering how long it would take you to make your way over to this thread....:rotfl:

Do you have to run in the marathon to see the characters that are out for the event? Are they out during sign ups? Pre race? post race? During the race? How does that all work.

I saw a photo a while back someone posted where they met the entire cast of Beauty and the Beast on stage. Almost made me what to start running....... I thought I could train to run just far enough to find them....... until they told me they were after the 20 mile marker.....

I met lots of the characters mentioned here. I'll have to upload my pictures of Slim from Bugs Life and Boo from Monster's Inc from last year's Pixar weekend.

Our rarest autograph is from King Louise. He normally doesn't sign with those big plastic hands but King Louise LOVED the photo book from prior trip photos I made for DD's 7th birthday trip. He ask the handler to have us wait til noone was around so he could sign her book. He even put a crown over the "i" in King.:thumbsup2

I did the 1/2 marathon this year (walked) and really wanted to see Louis from Princess and the Frog but I knew I was at a HUGE risk of being swept (you're supposed to keep a 16 min per mile pace) so I didn't stop to see him.

I still can't believe I really finished and got my medal. Now I'm signed up for the DL half Labor Day weekend. I really have to train this time so I can stop for maybe one character.

Congrats on your finishing! And I can't believe you didn't get to stop for a photo. That seals it for me. I'm not going to do it. Just on principle. And that has nothing to do with my aging out of shape body!

I'm not sure how rare these are, but on our last trip we met Perla & Suzy & 2 penguins from Mary Poppins. We have also met Mushu and the Genie. I want to see Scrooge McDuck! I always loved Ducktales.

I am old and out of shape. I had bunions removed from both feet in the past 18 months-you know where they cut the joint to put it back in alignment and then chop off the excess bone. I asked my doctor if I could do the half when I was about 4 months post op on the 2nd foot. He said it would be good for me. I didn't train like I should have. My friend that I went with and I kept together for the first 6 or so miles-she pushed me to almost 2 min/mile faster than I had done when I did train. I really wanted to get through the MK. I knew I was holding her back so I told her to go faster without me and she made me promise I wouldn't give up. I just missed being swept at mile 10-they had the cones to block the folks behind me in their hands. Once I got to mile 11 they said you were pretty safe. My feet were KILLING me! But by then I didn't want all that pain and no Donald medal.

When I found my friend at the finish line I told her to find someone else to do the DL half with. I really don't know how I made it back to the room where another friend went and got me ice for my feet. I rested a bit then showered and we all went out to lunch. Came to the room and rested again (we were up at 3am and I didn't sleep much the night before). When we went to dinner around 6pm that night I was feeling pretty good. I couldn't believe how good my feet felt. They used to ache for weeks after just a "regular" Disney trip. Within a week I told my friend I wanted to do the DL half with her and get the Coast to Coast medal with her.

DL will be a family trip and I've even signed all of us to do the 5K the day before the half. I really have to train for this one as I don't want to risk getting swept and I really can't let my kids see me looking like I did after the WDW half.

Then this past Dec, with just luckily being in the right place at the right time, we managed to get Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh!!

Oh my goodness!! You met Rabbit!!!!! Just out of curiousity where was he at? He is definitely at the top of my "must meet" list! :lovestruc

The most rare characters I have met are Kronk, Kuzco and Hercules. This was in California Adventures at Disneyland some years ago. Kronk was awesome and was quite the gentleman as he "kissed" my hand. :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

Here's some from Pixar weekend last May. Mr. Potato Head was out too but the lines were so long I didn't get a chance to see him.

Here's Slim from Bugs Life. He was switching out with Gypsy who I didn't get to see.

As much as I hate to post a photo of myself I think you need to see this just to see how HUGE he was (I'm 5'8").

The monsters were switching out and I saw Boo when I got to greet them. She was adorable! Her head bobbed.

I don't know if you would consider this a Character but I saw Dream Finder With figment back in 1997. He was walking the line and taking pictures with the guests. If I can find the Picture and figure out how to post it I will.;)

We met Max (Goofy's son) in Epcot, one rainy day, in the World Showcase, believe it or not! I think they just felt sorry for all us soggy tourists!

I would say Terk from Tarzan. I saw him at animal kingdom on my last visit and he has just come out so I got to be first to meet him! Tarzan used to be one of my fav movies so it really made my day!
