I saw this article too. When I was at WDW late April/early May of this year, the mug was only one price, $16.49 I believe at Art of Animation. We got them with the DP, but I remember looking and commenting to my husband that the pricing per day must not have worked. I thought the pricing per day was kind of silly and again something Disney was making way too complicated. I'm sure people over and over bought the mug for the incorrect number of days.

Making everything as complicated as possible seems to be a theme with Disney lately. I love Disney, and I'm a lawyer so I don't mind all the crazy rules and regulations. I deal with that kind of stuff on a daily basis. However, many of my friends who like Disney and want to do a once every decade trip find Disney to be too complicated.

The change was announced a month or so ago. It went into effect this week.

We stayed at Pop 2 weeks ago and we only had the one price option. Seems reasonable to me.

It was first mentioned in the mug FAQ thread on April 2, so it's been live for about two months or more, and live at many more resorts than mentioned in the article. I don't know why it took so long for sites to pick it up. Lol

Yes I beleive it even says it is good at any resort for the length of your stay

Yeah, I don't know who would have purchased it for just a single day anyway? I've been comparing the dining plans vs. paying out of pocket for our trip in a couple of weeks and it's still a little cheaper for us to pay as we go as well as buy the resort mugs.

Well I was one of the ones that got use out of the "pay per day" pricing. It wasn't confusing. I never get a dining plan and make shorter trips so if I'm going to be there 3 days I'd like to only pay for 3 days. Not too confusing.

Probably will skip it now because I can just make coffee in my room and will bring disposable cups. Don't need to drink all that soda anyway.
