I'm long-winded, so y'all should consider yourselves warned.
A heartfelt thanks to DLRwill for the gift of the animator's desk, and to Mal for getting it to me. Today is single-handedly one of the worst days of the year for me (my late grandfather's birthday), and you have no idea how much that helped. When I saw what it was in the trade window, I (I kid you not) started crying (happy tears, LOL!

).
I'd also like to take a moment to explain why it was something I wanted so much. I used to dream off and on about being an animator or designer when I was little, but sadly I had minimal drawing skills.

Anyhow, I have many fond memories of the Animation Studios in MGM. It was always my favorite part of MGM. I remember clear as day seeing the cells for Mulan, Brother Bear, and such on the desks. I'm also fairly certain I remember seeing some Lion King cells they were touching up back in 1993. I took the tour for around the 5th time in March of 2004, a matter of weeks after the studio was closed by Eisner. The windows weren't boarded up yet, and an animator had written something like "This studio is closed" on the dry erase board. All the knick knacks and toys and character models the animators kept everywhere were gone, and I left the building in tears.

I guess it was a combination of knowing how great it used to be, the end of 2D feature animation, and the loss of all that talent when so many of those folks were fired. It broke my heart.

To this day, I still can't ever see myself going down the steps to the interactive area because I remember so vividly what it used to be.
So perhaps this all sounds rather silly, but I feel like I have a little piece of that studio with me now. As I told several other players, to me that desk was worth much more than inferno. If I had an inferno, I would have traded it for a desk (and no, I'm not kidding), that's how much it means to me. That was definitely the definition of the "it's worth whatever you feel it is" idea!

So, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Some late and overdue thanks also go to many other players:
erinsgirl32, who was so kind as to give me more hotel pins in a trade than I expected to help me catch up on things I missed when I was sick from January through mid-March.
Lori, for sending me a code for a Buzz Cup pin.
tolkien7 for offering me a Pop Century pin for free (I'm sorry I never could seem to meet up with you! I no longer need it now, but the offer meant so much to me).
To ibgrumpy for trading me the last Everest pin I was missing and I think the Valentine's Day pin, all for some Yeti Vision codes.
Another member here (I don't remember the name, sorry!

) who essentially gifted me a pair of Stitch teleporters when she saw that I had just missed winning them in one of Ranch's quests and had been so excited about it.
Another DISer (whose name I also sadly do not remember) for sending me the three Yeti Vision codes back when it didn't work on my computer.
To wdwtamz for trading me two of the outfits I had wanted so badly since I started VMK (blue dress and Indian outfit) all for a Pirates 1/5 pin, even after I tried and tried to get her to offer less.
To Disney Dreams and I believe Iris, who both offered to get me a HSM microphone after Jungle Cruise went wacky on my computer (I ended up being gifted one by another player after I told her what happened, so I no longer need one

; you know, I
still have animals pop up everywhere in the rooms though after the game won't load

).
To Roxane for trading me the new WDW quest items, even though I know she could have asked for far more than what I offered.
Ditto to dashzap and the Thrill Seekers pin she traded to me.
To cteddiesgirl for sending me a message with some advice on a quest after I'd spent I think around 200+ hours on it trying to find a gem (not even 1/4 of that time was spent attempting it though! Those crazy quest timers...

).
To Idol_Fan for dropping whatever she was doing to come and give me some advice on prizes for a game I'm about to open very soon.
And to all the DISers who have helped me with Mansion various times, I so appreciate it. I'm sure there are other players I've forgotten to thank, but it is not on purpose.
And lastly, thank you to everyone who has been such a great friend to me in VMK and here on the DIS. In VMK speak, "I heart you all!"
ETA: And a special thanks to LittleRydia. I just did a search of my old posts to figure out your name, and I'm glad to see you're still active on the DIS (so hopefully you'll see this!

). The trade you made with me for the gold dress was the first trade I ever made. While many others wanted a ton for their dress and shoes, you simply traded it to me for the exact cost, even though about a month had passed since it was for sale. I had next to nothing because I was still new and terrible at every game except Jungle Cruise and Fireworks, and you truly brightened my day. To this day, it is my favorite costume and I would never ever part with it. Thank you for making my start to VMK so wonderful.
