I just left star traders shop after trying to help a guest. Wanted to know how to buy things. I said click on the cash register by the Alien. Of course I spelt register wrong. As i left I got this message.

"From VMK Staff" please do not use words that are not in the dictionary........

Now how stupid is that. Bad enough the games are not working properly but to get that message for spelling a word wrong is way to strick. I could understand if I was giving out posiible identifying information, numbers, places ect. But to be warned over cash register. Come on.

Could this be another bug or a sence of things to come. Not very happy at the moment. Also should I report this as a bug. Becuase it sure looks like one. Those poor kids just learning to type and spell not a good think for their confidence.

That stinks. Maybe it is a bug. IF it was not in the dictionary why did it let you used it?

Cause it was a cash register you need to click on what else do you call it. A cash thing
cash box. Everyone types and click entre before spell checking if that was the case conversations would take forever.

It may be a bad memory on my part, but I think that "register" isn't in the VMK dictionary at all...which is why I also tell people to click on the "cash machine" in the stores.

Belle, I think you have more than enough reason to think this is insane. Strangely VMK cares about people saying "Give me inferno or I'll band you" in a room where everyone is joking around about having things...and that people are typing bad non-dictionary words like "register." I'm thinking a more vigilant watch on "merry" and bf/gf rooms would be more important. It's VMK policy to let them happen, but people aren't supposed to get nasty in them...therefore shouldn't they be watching the chats in there instead of shooting off warnings for "register."

I don't even know why they're even sending out a warning for something like that either! I mean, if the word isn't in the dictionary or it isn't a VMK-approved user name the word wouldn't be seen anyways!

I'm hoping this warning was done by a computer...and a VMK staff wasn't wasting their time to send this off. IMHO, there's something really unsettling hearing someone got warned for something like this!

I got the same message (and apparently, so did some of my friends) for using words as numbers (on, too, free, etc.). We were talking about saving up for all the new clothes, and how many credits we have, and that is when the message popped up. "Please don't use words that are in the dictionary in place of words that are not. We want everybody to be safe." Uh..that's great. So do I. But how is saying "I need free though sand more credits!" harmful to anyone???
And don't get me started on the idiocy of VMK staff members. My friends and I were joking last week about how silly some people are (in particular CLs who pretend to be VMK staff). So, to be funny I said "I am a cast member! Give me your inferno or I will band you!". And then we all LOL, and continued being silly. Well, about 10 minutes later I get a message saying that I had been banned for 24 hours for impersonating a cast member and trying to steal someone's magic!! I was fuming! Worse still, when I tried to fight it (I sent a long message using the CONTACT ME explaining that we had been joking, etc.) they sent me a response saying that they felt the ban was fair and just! Absolutely ridiculous...all for a joke! Now I can never apply for community leader. Oh well, no big loss since they seem to choose their CLs using the dart board!! (No offense to the 4-5 DECENT CLs I know of).

Edit: LOL! Looks like Fly was posting as I was writing. I think Fly was there when my ban was placed...I know GBShorts was.

I have more to share on this subject...

Last night, VMK_Lion came into my room and at one point someone was asking him if he could hurry along his CL application (FYI, VMK staffers can do NOTHING about that!) and Lion told him that he couldn't help him in that department but gave him some advice...advice that seemed really useless to me at the time but now is starting to make more sense:

Don't use words that turn red when you type!

Interesting, hm?

Sounds to me like they're after anybody who does ### no matter what the intent of the word was.

Okay, now it's getting scary.

I haven't been warned since the last time, but at the rate they're doing stuff to us, I have a suspicious feeling that they don't want us around.

I've always known that my non-conformist attitude and Disney's safety values would not interact well with each other, and that was one of the reasons why I was hesitant to try VMK. The other being that it was strictly for kids. Now that I know that it's for everyone who can handle the dictionary, I don't feel any worse. Now that they're cracking down on the warnings again, I'm getting that bad feeling. :(

I wouldn't be surprised if some disgruntled staff members decide that VMK was a bad idea and should be shut down.
