I just need to vent so sorry folks, I am so angry and upset, we downloaded a 'free' app to the ipad called tap zoo.:headache: so far so godd we thought then I checked my emails and we have been charged in excess of £161 all told for various things relating to this game.

I contacted my bank as we didn't know if it was real or not, and they are, they also won't stop the transactions as we have a contract with apple- okay, so we are trying to contact apple i-tunes and this is a nightmare, it has a report a problem on the statement but this keeps droping out and you can only email them no phone nmber given... I am worried sick that these amounts keep coming and we can't stop them.

So much for this app being freee...avoid it like the plague!

If anyone has any advice or a phone number to sort this out i would really appreciate it.

I'm assuming all your charges are for "coins" or "stars"?

You should be able to stop these purchases by disabling in app purchasing - I've not used this app specifically but most use a 1 off payment everytime you want to buy something rather than a subscription. However - that will disable ALL in app purchases on your phone.

Not sure what version of the iphone you have, but the latest software for the 3gs and 4 shouldn't let you spend any iTunes money inside an app without first entering your password. The 3g may well still allow you to buy stuff without a password if you've entered your iTunes password for something else in the last 15 minutes or so.

Deleting the app should also stop the payments - again I don't believe it uses a subscription, so no app = no chance to click to buy stuff.

I've been playing Tap Zoo for months and not had any charges. As long as you only use the coins you have and don't buy any extras or buy stars then you shouldn't be charged for anything.

 What a nightmare Andrea. Sorry I haven't got any advice, I just hope you get it sorted out soon ::yes::

poor you a lot of people have been caught out over this game.

I know many have complained to Apple when their young children have racked up huge bills. Apple have written off loads of tap zoo purchases.

good luck, hope you manage to sort it out.x

It is a good reminder about the dangers of in app purchases  It was the first thing I disabled in everyone's iphone, touch etc :thumbsup2

Thanks all  I have disabled it now and DH has sent an email to i-tunes to try to resolve it, why can't you get anyone on the phone anymore?

Hopefully it will be sorted soon, might start my pre-trippie to cheer myself up!

 sorry to hear that you've been stung like this, hope you manage to get at least some of the money back.

Look forward to reading your pre-trip report and hope it has the desired effect.

There are several games like this. You need to go into settings & turn off in app purchases, it's under General & then Restrictions.

There have been several stories of children unintentionally spending $100's, no iTunes password required :sad2:

Good luck with retrieving your money.
