Rant - commercial with poor grammar

Clearly not anything that was scripted.

This is the way he talks. And it would have been incredibly rude and insensitive, when the man is discussing something so raw and emotional he breaks down crying, to "correct" him and try to re-do it. There likely weren't multiple takes in this case either... They just interviewed him and used what they had.

Yes, he likely still talks like that even though he's in the military.

This is how he speaks.

In no way does this particular detail make me think less of Comcast.

:confused3 I presume the example in the OP is an attempt to make the commercial vibe as folksy and relatable. Myself and others I talk with every day will purposely throw in words like ‘nother, ain’t and y’all sometimes for that very reason.

This is what people are actually trying to say. I have seen turns into I've seen and gets shortened and learned incorrectly as I seen.

Me, I couldn't care less about commercials and don't understand why people are all up in arms about them. Who doesn't record and fast forward through commercials today if you haven't "cut the cord" yet?
People who actually watch live TV and don't have a DVR, that's who.

There's a car dealer here that runs radio ads. They put the "fine print" not only at a fast pace, but at a lower volume level (at least half) in the ads. To me, that's sleezy. That's enough to turn me off of that dealership. Poor grammar? eh.

Think it’s just the way people brought up and regional grammar mistakes. “I seen” drives me crazy!
It drives me crazy too, and OFTEN when I correct students who make this mistake on a regular basis, they say, "But, Mrs. Pete, it's past tense!" They genuinely believe they're right and will not hear that they're using it incorrectly -- even when they see it in our grammar textbook.

Regardless, this doesn't bother me as much as the nonexistent word "alot".
I would be careful about calling something a "mistake" versus seeing it as dialectical or non-standard.
Disagree. Simple subject-verb agreement isn't up for debate.
