which of these restaurants would be you most comfortable eating solo? least? thinking lunches
LeCellier
Liberty Tree
Plaza
SciFi
Brown Derby
Kona
Rainforest

I'm always comfortable wherever I go...I take a book or strike up a conversation with others around me if its possible...I had a wonderful meal at Jiko ...so much that I highly suggest it for a solo traveler!!!!Ask to be seated at the appetizer bar!!!! dj:thumbsup2

I've only eaten at a couple of them solo, one of which was Sci-Fi. To me, that's the most compfortable place for solo diners. Everyone's just sitting watching the screen, so it's irrelevant whether you're with 10 people or none. Very little conversation.

I'm not good at the ranking thing, so here's a variation on your request:

LeCellier - ate there solo, was fine. My server was attentive but not smothery

Liberty Tree - haven't eaten there (yet). I'd feel weird about the character attention, but that's just me

Plaza - haven't eaten there; I figure it would be similar to eating in a local restaurant, though, and don't think it would be strange or uncomfortable

SciFi - ate there with others, but would feel fine going solo - the movie clips give you something to focus on, and since everyone is facing that way, no one is facing you

Brown Derby - haven't eaten there, but would be no problem - food and service should be good. I can't imagine any discomfort there

Kona - Again, have not eaten there, but would like to sometime. I'd feel perfectly OK there

HTH!

Kona has some wonderful servers. so solos are almost welcomed here.

the only one I might find uncomfortable would be Brown Derby - but that is personal taste.

ate once at rainforest - not again. they like a bunch of restuarants had a serious problem with my being allergic to pepper. Nothing is worst than watching the people with you eating what they wanted - why you are forced to eat a hamburger (which took them over 2 hours to do - told you they had a problem). So that one is off the list for me.

Sci-Fi is fine

Liberty Tree is fine.

I would put Kona First.

At MK I would do Plaza for lunch (or even dinner) before I would do LTT.

Brown Derby definitely more than SciFi

Not that into LeCellier

and would put RFC at the very bottom

I've done Le Cellier, SciFi, and Brown Derby solo (even did CRT solo) and find that most times, the CMs will seat you in an area that is pretty secluded. I never brought a book and I never felt self-conscious.:woohoo: I would put Le Cellier first, then Brown Derby followed by SciFi.

I used to have a job where I traveled alot. At first I would only go through drive- throughs or use room service, but then I realized I was missing seeing alot. I was still nervous, though. I would always bring a magazine, but at least I got out there! All of the places you listed sound great. Take a magazine if you feel uncomfortable, and enjoy Disney!

I have eaten solo at Liberty Tree (lunch, I think) Kona (supper) and RFC all were splendid experiences with servers that put me at ease. I have dined at Brown Derby with a fiend and would feel OK solo there as well, but lighting would be a bit dim for reading (I adore reading over a solo meal.) Haven't eaten at any of the others.

I have eaten at all of these restaurants solo and enjoyed each and every one of them except for Rainforest. I have enjoyed Rainforest with family, but solo was a different story. I had a PS at AK Rainforest and still waited a VERY long time, all sorts of people who arrived later went in first, including parties of two. A very kind couple offered to share their table if I wasn't seated first. They were seated first (I was there long before them) but I graciously(I hope!) declined, and after they were seated asked to speak to the manager. I was then seated at the next table available. Apparently they were waiting for a table they thought might be appropriate for a solo diner before seating me??? I waited an hour!!! I was embarrassed and would never wait like that again. BUT...like I said in the beginning...I have eaten at all of the other places you have mentioned and had good service and felt comfortable in all of them.
