Randysmobility scooter hire

Has anyone any experience with this firm please? http://www.randysmobility.com
Their cost for a standard scooter for one week is $180.00 and $100 for another consecutive week. This price includes taxes, delivery and pick-up. It seems a lot less expensive than other firms. Any info would be gratefully accepted.

First, I want to mention that all the companies listed in the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of this board are listed because people have reported good experience with them. I would not hesitate to rent from any of the companies that are listed.

We have used Randy's in the past and were pleased. The scooter we had looked almost brand new.
All of the companies deliver and pick up the ECV from your resort. The other companies deliver and pick up from Bell Services/Front Desk at your resort. Randy's requires that they deliver it to the person renting it and they will bring it right to your room. They will demonstrate it and make sure that all your questions are answered. If you are going to be transporting it by car, they will demonstrate how to take it apart and put it back together again.
I have no way of knowing for sure, but I think those things are some of the reasons Randy's rates are lower. Because they are delivering it right to you and making sure you know how to use it, I think they probably have lower needs for repair and possibly they pay lower insurance rates, which they pass on by making their rates lower.

Thank you very much Sue. I was just a bit wary as they are so much cheaper than the other firms. Other quotes I have had so far are:

You could also try contacting Randy's to explain your concerns that their service might not be as good because their price is lower and see what they have to say.

I have rented from Randy's in the past for the same price they are going for today - great experience they are very helpful and show up when they say they will be there. Scooter looked brand new and worked great.
Plan to use them again for my upcoming trip as well.

I emailed Randy - he replies really quickly - and he said:
"We try really hard to keep our rental price affordable. But with the rising fuel price we may have to increase some."
So if anyone wants to reserve an ECV etc maybe they should do it sooner rather than later.

I have used Randy's twice as has another DISer and we both highly recommend him. He explains all you need to know about the scooter, shows you how to disassemble it if you are going to be using a car and is really a nice guy. The scooters we have used have been awesome! Mine had a great fabric covered cushy seat and was so comfortable!
