I just recently came back from a 2 week stint at wdw for my first time ever...I go to DL all the time and have always stayed in a hotel where the ecv is delivered to the hotel and I pick it up from the front desk...
however, I stayed with my friend who lives in Winter Garden, just a few miles from wdw property and so I needed to find a scooter rental place that would work for me...I did alot of research and although most of the places I looked at had good recommendations, I ended choosing Randy's...here is the reason why:
1. Randy's website, which is http://www.randysmobility.com/, states that they will match any price you see on a competitors website..so that obviously got me checking around...I did find one that was cheaper so I called .
Every single time I ever called I got Randy directly. The first call, we spoke for quite awhile and based upon my weight he suggested that I go to an HD ecv...It was going to be more expensive but I needed it for 9 days so he only charged me for the week...I booked and paid for the cart at that time..
I had asked Randy if it was possible to be the first one the day I was actually scheduled to get it...so he gave me his cell # and told me to call him the day before and remind him...
I actually lost quite a bit of weight between the initial conversation and the trip and didnt need to have the HD ecv anymore and my friend suggested that instead of calling him to change to a smaller ecv and get money back, just to see if he would change to a smaller ecv and deliver it the day before and not charge me for it...so the day I was scheduled to call him anyways I asked and he was very happy to do it...
I ended up getting the cart around 5ish the day before and Randy himself delivered it...to boot he still gave me an HD cart and he showed us how to take it apart and put it together..it was definitely an inconvenience having to take it out of the car every night and put it together to charge it...unfortunately that is the only way you can charge it, but thats not his fault..
The last day I was scheduled to use the ecv, it actually rained all day so I never went to a park...I ended up going to resorts and walking around and shopping so when we got home, on a whim, I just decided to call him and let him know that if he wanted to, he could come pick up the cart that day...
At first he said he would come as planned the following day but I guess he decided to come after all...so in actuality, I only had it for 8 days but had I needed it the entire 9 days I would have been able to keep it without paying extra...
I wholeheartedly recommend Randy's and although I am still losing weight, if I ever need to use an ECV again I will NOT hesitate to use him...
