Hey gals, rather than hijack the DFTWGP thread, I thought I'd start a new one. I'm thinking of going with Randy. Does he do HD photos/vid? I forget who's I saw with samples of Blu-Ray.......... er... Plus, I can't seem to find pricing on chapmanphotography.com. Is there a place where its listed?

Randy does photographer only! STVS Video does HD video. When you go to Randy's website click on menu, then Disney bride, and the password is ariel. You can go there and get pricing info. HTH!

I'm glad someone started a thread on Randy b/c I have a few ?s about him myself.

I don't mean to hijack this thread either!!! but I think its all related!

OK, I'm trying to decide who to use for the wedding day, Disney photography or Randy. Pics are a huge deal for me, so I'm going to go with the best package offered. We also want to do the MK and epcot photo shoot so obviously we'll have to use Disney for that.

If we go with Randy, we save about $2500, holy cow!!! This just all around seems the best thing to do. Here's my only concern. The DVD he gives you with all of your images on, are there any water marks or "proof" writen on them that would prevent you from printing off your images if you wanted to? Basically, is he giving you your images for keeps?? I want the images so I can go ahead and print off copies to give to people, to frame and put around the house, to bring to work, etc.

Also, I still have not gotten a grip on what an renaissance album is. I have seen the finished product that Disney gives you for your wedding album and I really absolutely LOVE it. It is exactly what I want, but I have a feeling a renaissance album is not the same as that. That would be the only reason I'd go with Disney... but is $2500 worth the album.??? ugh, such hard decisions!

You re getting Randy & Stan confused, Stan runs STVS & videos your ceremony etc whereas Randy is strictly a photographer. Im not too sure how i located the pricing, think there is a link on his site. We decided to go with Randy even without checking pricing fees, hes work is so fantastic that i probably would go with him even if his rates were sky high (which they re not).

Hes super lovely, i ve spoken to him over the phone plus we ve chatted via email a lot & hes a great guy. Im so glad we ve secured him for our wedding

Randy gives you a CD, not a DVD. The CD is your "negatives" you own the pictures, and you can take the CD's and have copies made. Disney charges an extra $1,000 for this!!!

i had so many proofs that he put mine on dvd's instead of cd's. randy is AMAZING. i highly recommend him. photography was the most important part of my wedding and he did a wonderful job. i highly recommend him. he just won the knot award again and for his talent, i believe he could charge double what he does.

FIRST YOU WOULD BE CRAZY NOT TO USE RANDY HE IS WONDERFUL:worship: !!!!!

THE DVDS HE GIVES YOU YOU CAN PRINT FROM THEY DO NOT SAY PROOF ON THEM!!!!! :cool1:

the renassance album is a black album with actual picts in it .
he does a digital flush mount ( which i chose ) it like a actual book picts are printed on paper with neet back grounds! it looked awesome plus holds more photos, it 575.00 to upgrade to it.

PLUS RANDY GIVES YOU 2 ALBUMS FULL OF YOUR 4X6 PROOFS BUT DONT SAY PROOF ON THEM, I HAD ABOUT 800 PICTS BETWEEN BOTH BOOKS

FOR THE MONEY AND QULITY OF PICTS RANDY IS SOOOO WORTH IT! he takes awesome photos I didn't have 1 bad pict and all together he took over 2000 picts!! he has different packages on his website to choose from!!

I totally second this!!!!!

My first goal when booking things was get Randy on board

Randy & getting my location are my top prorities for our big day

I ve acheived my first goal, just have to wait till Sept to hopefully secure our location of choice.

Dont get me wrong, we ve booked Stan too which im glad of but i see the photos as being such a massive important part of our wedding that i would of been devastated if we could nt of booked Randy. To me the photos are more key than the video but thats just my opinion

Here is a link to our renaissance album. As someone else said, Randy does offer upgrades to the digital flush mount album now, something he wasn't doing when we were getting married.

RANDY !!!! RANDY !!!!!! RANDY !!!!!!!!

LOVED HIM !!!!

However, there is a new thread on here about outside photographers, so check it out. Depends where you are having your ceremony, etc......

One advantage to DPS is that if you do go ahead with the MK and Epcot shoots, you can buy the master CD for $1000 and you have ALL your photos. (This comes automatically with Randy's package and no extra cost), but it depends if you want your MK and Epcot CD. You can wait 3 years to purchase it at a cheaper price.

We used Randy for our ceremony and did the MK shoot. I order a couple of enlargements, including a 16 x 20 of an MK photo and am just waiting the 3 years to get the CD of all the photos.

The CD or DVD that Randy provides you is the high-res of all your photos and you own the rights to them, so you can do what you want with them.

Randy is doing my wedding in December and I cannot say enough nice things about him. He spent a good hour on the phone with me just going over how the photography would work on our wedding day. Not only that but there is a 4 hour break between our ceremony and reception and Randy offered to leave and come back without charging us anything additional!
Oh! Also during our conversation he was actually giving me reception advice to make the day more memorable. Again, he is fabulous. I know he will do a remarkable job for us!

I'm freaking out! Randy was booked as soon as I booked for December 1, 2008. Now, I'm stuck with DPS because the roots or misty aren't in my budget... I'm really about to cry, because all I've heard is horrible things about DPS and how few people actually use them... any suggestions for other vendors that would be about Randy's price and as nice as Randy?

DPS is in your budget but misty isnt? Misty is much cheaper than Disney...where are you misty brides to post pricing?? She is very similarly priced to Randyy

I just wanted to tell you that Randy is doing my engagement pics in August 08 and my wedding in September 09. I booked so far out because after talking to him there were few days left around my date. All of his work is fantastic!!!!!

I'm having an escape wedding... photography for 2 hours in included in the $4000 package, I was paying extra for Randy...

This is one of the things that makes my decision very difficult. You are already paying a lot of money for the package through Disney, and then they charge you 1000 if you want the CD DOH! :headache: But with Randy you get it included, so that's an extra 1000 that we'll have to dish out... hmmm.....

I really love Randys quality, and now knowing that you get the images and they are yours to do what ever you please with, this decision just became so much harder!!!! I really like the album disney puts together a lot, its just perfect for me and I really want it! The renaissance album is beautiful, but I don't like it as much. Grr this is frustrating!

Caryn, you are so crafty and creative, is there any company out there that can create an album journalistic style, if you uploaded digital images to them??? This is the deciding factor for me, I want a more journalistic, printed album, rather than a renaissance album. I have seen the website blurb.com but I want something a bit "more" than that.

Thanks for sharring, that really helped me get an idea of what a renaissance album is now!!!!!

I dont think I'd be able to wait 3 years to buy the cd of the pics! I need instant gratification! lol

I've contacted him for an engagement photo shoot, he really is a peach! This is going to be a difficult decision!!!

PLus, for the three to four hours I would have hired Randy for his pricing was much better than Misty's, but that's just off their websites... I could be wrong. :confused3

i'm making my parents albums on blurb and i bought a renn album to make for myself from
http://tyndellphotographic.com/renLIB8746OSalbum.html

you can also buy flush mounts from them, but i didn't want to work that hard...

also, go to www.flushmountalbums.com, they have several sister sights that offer upload services etc. hth!
