Random thoughts from recent trip

Remember when they first introduced the sensored bathroom! People were standing in line just to try it out..even when other bathrooms had no lines!

What is this about??

We were surprised at the price of DL bottled water -- $2.75.
We meant to see if they were larger bottles than what WDW sells for $2. They probably are. But we never really paid attention to the ounces until the $2.75 price tag. ;)
DH made a comment there too about DL must really sell a lot of churros! They are everywhere.
And we did not realize how much more rain WDW gets than the DL area. I was going to pack umbrellas. DH said not necessary! And he was right! :rotfl:
More covered areas in FL, than DL. DL just does not need them due to milder weather.

I didn't see as many bigger kids riding in strollers at DL or CA as I do at WDW. Most of the stroller riders seemed to be 4 or under./QUOTE]

We actually saw a couple of adults in the DL strollers. It was moms holding kids as dad pushed. Very odd. I can't imagine the strollers were built to hold that much weight. If mom needed something they should have rented a wheelchair, but I think it was just mom wanting a ride.

In October, we're going to see Fantasmic for the first time! :cheer2:

Wow. DL F! is so cool!

Truly an E-Ticket show. :wizard:
I never get tired of seeing Fantasmic! at DL.

From the Princess section all the way thru to the end I just have the biggest smile on my face during Fantasmic! :goodvibes

California Screamin` Single Rider Line is one of the greatest Disney park inventions ever.

Fast Pass (see above about Single Rider)

Soarin' and Splash and GRR Single Rider Lines are cool, but nowhere close to Screamin's in quick and/or multiple ride awesomeness.

The Villains Lair meet & greet area at Disneyland, right inside the Castle to the right, is consistently one of the funnest & funniest spots in the whole park during the daylight hours. Viva la Villains!

The Mission flour tortillas are more preferrable to my taste buds than the Mission corn tortillas.

Strips, Dips & Chips in Paradise Pier will close at the end of September for Midway Mania construction and it's menu (fish, fries, chicken strips and also including Caesar salads...) will move to the Bountiful Farmers Market in Bugs Land/Bountiful area of DCA. (source Laughingplace.com)

Jebediah Jones & the Miner 49er's are a fun and funny bluegrass band that plays on Highway 49 across from the entrance to GRR, almost daily.
Their fun sets usually include a visit from Chip & Dale and sometimes they hand out washboards and other percussion instruments for the kids to jam on.

I  Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, but haven't broken a million points yet. :bitelip:

Toontown is worth visiting for the always fun Roger Rabbit Car Toon Spin.
So long, so fun, so wacky, so well done!! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to see what all of Halloween Time at Disneyland & DCA is...
:yay:

I liked Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams at first, but now I love it!
What wonderful performers and beautiful floats!

Great post, Judy! :thumbsup2

I agree WHY do people wear high heels and I hope they keep the First 50 Magical Years. That is a great show!

My favorite bathroom...the one at Ariel's Grotto...its so themed! :teeth:

oh me too :cloud9: I have loved F ever since I first saw it...I have tapes of 3 different performances even the very first showing ever and how the mickey performs at the beginning has changed over the years..I know this whole entire song by heart...could sing it with all the sounds effects as well hahahaha...and I know mickeys performance by heart...Im so in love with that show

-I  classic coke in DL & DCA. I don't know what it is but it tastes 10x's better than when I buy the canned version.

-I'm now addicted to the Dole Whip Float at DL. I dig the fancy umbrella ;)

-LOVE small world during Christmas time when they have all the cool bubbles drop down from the ceiling as you enter a tunnel.

-Strawberry churros are scrumptious! I haven't had one in a long time.

-God bless the turkey leg! I loved the ones at WDW better than DL's. We bought 2 turkey legs in WDW and it fed my entire family (7 of us total).

-I like the bathroom in the DL Hotel (next to Goofy's Kitchen). It's empty, not stuffy or hot inside and SUPER clean! I also like the bathroom next to White Water Snacks at the GC Hotel. I don't know which bathroom I like in DL, I guess I would pick the one next to Autopia in Tomorrowland and the one just outside the corner of the toy & watch shop on Main St.

-To Judy: I loved Dueling Dragons in Universal Studios Florida. It was awesome and my sister and I nearly had a heart attack! I wish they had that ride along with the Dudley Doo Right log ride here in the Hollywood park. :(

I got one Coke in DCA on our entire trip (drank water and lemonade) and it tasted like Pepsi. Not as much bite and far too sweet. Ugh.

DL's Fantasyland still kicks WDW's bum.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

You got that right! Love the Casey Junior Train (yes, I'm an adult!), love Pinnochio, and what can I say, DL has Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Say no more.

And another random thought. Wishes at the Magic Kingdom at WDW can't hold a candle to DL's display. Simply incredible.

That's another thing....I still can't get over the fact that you are sent to Hell on a Disney ride ! Gives me giggles......

Flying without hand lotion is torture.......

Why oh Why haven't the airlines responded to the whole liquid fiasco by handing out water bottles as you board the plane?

The colada drink from the Lost bar at the DLH was really tasty ;)

DISsers are reallt great people

I enjoyed my nice hot corn tortilla

Did I mention I have nice hair.....for a human?

Never did catch a hidden mickey on Monsters.....have you ?

We got to do a wheel chair switch out car on SM.....very slick

Indy really is a little different every time you ride.

As a kid, I can remember seeing the top of the Matterhorn as we were coming off the freeway. Oh, the anticipation! :jumping1:

When I see someone eating that thing, I can only think of Fred Flintstone.

If you grab a lil packet of salt, put it on the warm corn tortilla, and then roll it up while still warm....it makes it taste even better.

For the flower tortilla if you grab a packet of butter from Pacific Wharf and put it on the warm flower tortilla and roll it up it makes it taste extra yummy too!

I love these random thoughts :goodvibes

Judy, what makes it interesting from you is that I think that there is enough time between your visits to the Land that changes would stand out for you - more than for the locals who go all the time.

I like the restroom behind Carnation Cafe.

Sitting in the Grand Californian Hotel lobby, listening to the piano player, and watching the visiting families is really a nice way to spend some downtime.

Flour tortillas - try a little Nutella on them - delish

Watching the fireworks from the train station platform gives you a nice "show" while watching them from down on Main Street puts you in the show - I've never seen them from the Small World area.

I remember those days, too! We came from 91 to the 5, and we would start looking for the Matterhorn, and shout, "There it is!" with that feeling of excitement.

The tortillas are so good! This past August one of the CM's saw my little sister's birthday sticker, so they gave her a free bag of tortillas! I also think the short video you watch before you enter is cute. :thumbsup2

WHich ride is that??? I really enjoyed this thread will be having some random thoughts of my own after our first trip to DL in 2007!!!! :cool1:

My random thoughts

The turkey legs are highly overrated, they taste like ham.
Didn't care for Paradise Pier but can't wait to stay at the Grand Californian. I did like the private entrance at GC into CA.
I love the Paradise Pier area. I loved the broccoli soup in a bowl. Brought home several loafs of the bread.
Didn't really care for tortillas before but loved the warm one after the tour at CA.
Think POTC is much better at DL.
Love the Indiana Jones ride. Wish they would do something like that at WDW.
Loved the ceremony at the front of the park where they replay Walt's words and they release the doves. Wish that could stay.

If you buy an ice cream on Main Street and the ice cream is not attached to the cone very securely, pick up the scoop of ice cream from the brick sidewalk and bring it back to the shop for a replacement. ;)
