Random shower question

Years ago I could take a shower and be ready in 15 minutes.

It has not happened for years now. Cannot dress right away. I will throw on a big T-shirt right after drying. Need to cool off for 30, 40 minutes to an hour before getting dressed (and if I have to dry my hair.....add another 20-30 minutes to cool off .

After showering, I also wait 15-20 minutes and put on deodorant and t-shirt back on. I have seen way too may people with the white deodorant lines at the bottom of their shirts (darker colors).

I have a small table top fan that I have to blast at me for a good long while so I don't sweat my makeup off or have wet hair at my temples. I've actually started setting up appointments for later in the day just so I don't have to wake up so early to allow for my cool down :D

At home I only ever bath in the tub and almost always only in the evening. I shower at hotels or on cruise ships where there is no tub and then I jump out, put on a robe, do hair and make-up and then get dressed. Getting ready is a single process though; I wouldn't do anything else (like have breakfast) in the midst of it.

I shower in the mornings always, and then I get dressed for the day. I don't wear makeup or do my hair unless I'm going out, and even then the makeup is optional. I don't generally eat breakfast unless I'm on vacation.

I shower right before bed. I cannot stand going to bed with "the day" all over me. Blech!

On occasion, I shower in the morning and I get dressed immediately. Although I hate that because when I dry my hair, I get so hot and sweaty.

Have you tried simply taking a cooler shower?

I meant the morning shower I rarely if ever shower at bedtime.
Per my wife's allergists instructions, we always shower at night to get all the pollen and dust off, then right into PJ's. Otherwise you are wallowing in dust and pollen all night in bed. It has made a huge difference for my wife's sinus issues.
When we were working, we always had super early work start times, 3 am. If we showered in the morning, we'd have to get up even earlier. Last 16 years we worked we got up an hour before we had to be work. Enough time to eat breakfast, brush our teeth and drive into Downtown.

When I shower, I stay in my towel or robe for a little bit until I'm dried off to get dressed. I'll do my face routine, brush my teeth, brush my hair(i dont do anything to my hair besides brush it, its so thin it dries pretty fast. LOL)...etc before I get dressed.

I do rinse off most nights before putting my pjs on and going to bed.

And when I'm home and have nothing to do and nowhere to go, I have no problem keeping my pjs on and staying in them all day. They are my comfiest clothes I have and I like to be comfy at home...lol

I have but many times I just forget to let the water run cooler before getting out. It does help. Just have not picked up the habit. I still cannot get dressed right away (less time needed for sure).

Mostly evening showers - especially during the warmer months (actually two showers many times) so not too concerned about getting dressed but the other 50% of the time when I need to go somewhere - no matter what time of day......need to cool off.

My routine…..
*take a shower
*put on a light robe to put on makeup & dry hair
*get dressed for the day

If I shower in the morning it's because I have to go somewhere so I have to get dressed, I agree, I hate getting dressed right after a shower. I love the feeling of showering at night and slipping on pajamas and getting into my clean sheets with damp hair so I try to shower at night if I can.

I shower in the morning, dry off, shave, brush teeth, take meds, put deodorant on and then get dressed. All as one routine, if I stop anywhere in the process I'm probably not going to get finished.
Never tried to put a sports bra on while damp, although I've watched my wife try it a few times.
Drying off well after the shower then air drying the rest of the way while doing the other things seems like it works for her.

Me too! I shower at night. I sweat so much during the day especially in the summer so a shower before bed is nice and refreshing.
The problem I have with that is that if I sweat at night then I'm wearing that all day long. If it's bad I'll shower before bed but if all I did was go to work and come home, I'd rather sleep in the day filth, then sleep clean and carry the night filth with me all day.

I sure envy you nighttime shower people. My hair is "not good" and I like it to look good. I can turn a sow's ear (my hair) into a silk purse but I have to shower in the morning. I've tried it at night and I spend so much time the next day trying to get it to do the right thing, it's just easier to shower again.

Do you get dressed after you shower in the morning or do you throw your pjs back on?

I put my pjs back on as I despise trying to get dressed after showing. Putting on a sports bra just after a shower is an exercise in frustration.

Usually I put in my pjs. Choose my clothes, eat breakfast, than get dressed.

Posted as had to get dressed right after showering while staying in hotel in Disneyland with family.
Random question in response to your random question...do you wear a sports bra every day? Even when you're not doing sports? Also, are you in DLR right now? Sweet!! :earsgirl:

Not to mention the hot flashes I get at night , shower in the morning.

So glad I don't have to do the things you females do.

Teeth, shower, dress, grab lunch, out the door. 15 minutes.

And for those discussing morning or evening showers, it's 2 showers a day for me. Work in a hot manufacturing plant so after work or after mowing or riding the bike after work I shower but can't stand the overnight sleep greasy feeling and shower in the morning also.

r.e. bold - so unless you wash the bedding every day you sleep in cumulative days *filth*???
