I think I've got lots of catching up to do!

Hi Snow!

PAD is an owner!

You should get something free for listening.,,,, all day fastpasses maybe?

I don't really know much......not a timeshare type person....read CHEAPO!

Initial investment is high, but...........depending on your travel habits/needs you make the initial investment in about 7 trips.

We actually never did the presentation, we 'found out the best kept secret' on our last day & didn't have time. However-- a few things that I do know---you get ice cream (yum) for sitting through the presentation, & you get only a handful of fast passes (essentially only enough to make up the time that you are in the presentation), it is NOT a 'hard sell'-- like most timeshares are---from what I hear, it is very much 'alright' to walk away if it is not something you are interested in.

I read that you also get a gift card which is an added bonus :thumbsup2

not sure about a gift card.......maybe what you are thinking is this:

If you put the down payment on a Disney Visa you receive $500 of Disney Reward Dollars. The amount of points you buy has to be at least 160. (they have a 'special' going on right now where you can buy in a 'only' 100 points. The usual buy in amount is 160 points.

Well I know about the freebies you get for taking the tour :lmao: But I am curious how the point system works ::yes::

oh here's where you want to start! Don't give me something easy......go right for the kill!

Points: this is the beauty of DVC vs other timeshares. (yes, there are other places people go......:scared1: & a lot of other timeshares are cheaper) however this is one of the best things: your points can be used anytime you want, for however long or short you want, any time of year, any day of the week, summer, winter, Christmas, anytime......there are no blackouts what-so-ever.
Now- that being said, obviously the more costly times to go (i.e. Christmas--)(think anytime the room rates are high)- the DVC points needed are going to be high as well. Weekend points are going to be higher than weekday points (Friday, Saturday).

Banking, borrowing & use years may have to be a lesson for tomorrow.

and that was only lunch!

We had friends over (have pool, friends gather)
and I grilled burgers, sausage, hot dogs and potatoes for dinner
plus corn, pasta, chips, blueberries and watermelon

I spoil those was40 kids!

Yes you do!! Sounds like fun!

We had to go to a graduation party for a family friend...the girl who graduated spent more time with her friends then her party guests so it was pretty boring :confused3 I took the time to tell my parents all the benefits of DVC :lmao:

we are bringing our suitcases up since out magical express tags came and we want to put them on...it's a little early but I like looking at them :lmao:

I don't blame you! I'm not using magical express this year so I don't have those tags to look forward to. I did get my e mail a few days ago from the WL concierge asking if we had any special requests before we come.

started to rain here,
and lightning

not looking too good for ball tomorrow
forecast is rain most of day

It was really beautiful here in NY today. No rain or clouds at all. Tomorrow will be more humid and we're expecting rain by late afternoon.

Oh! From my limited understanding, you purchase so many points, then you can use them for stays at your DVC or for the resorts or even for Adventures by Disney vacations or other places......list somewhere, new york is one place to visit on points.......works like a timeshare.....sort of

you can use your points at over 500 locations throughout the world.........however.........BIG HOWEVER.........the best 'bang for you buck' is to stay at the DVC resorts..........in addition to those in WDW, there is one in Hilton Head, NC, Vero Beach, FL.........one coming in So Callie (DL) & one in Hawaii.....now those.........until they are for sale.......I would not base decisions on those.......

warning: Adventures by Disney........very expensive!

I was watching the View a few days ago and they showed scenes with a family who won a trip from the show. Sherry S. went on the trip with them to Costa Rica. Looked like lots of fun. I'm sure it's quite expensive.

PAD :yay: Just the person I want to talk to (I love talking with you too was40  ) What can you tell me about DVC?

ok-- tomorrow-- Banking, borrowing, Use Year, 11 month & 7 month windows........also there is a DVC thread.........I'll PM you........
