Does anyone remember?

I didn't get one done when I went in September...but I want to get it done while I'm there this weekend.

Rough estimate on the prices? Thanks!

I can't say how much per inch. I think I remember them saying is between $20-$25 for most people. my DD had hers done and it fell in that price range.

we will also be there this week end and I'm sure DD princess: will want one again.

thank you mrszrw!

We are going to be at AKL as well! (I wasn't supposed to know - as it was supposed to be a surprise - but DH just isn't good at hiding things!)

One thing I do remember from my last AKL stay - the hair-wrapper-people (?? heheh) are NEVER there...everytime I went down there - the place was deserted. So it might be best to get your DD's hair wrapped at AK! :)

$1.50 per inch.... that is at the stand out by the main pool as you exit the lobby. I would assume the other stands would be the same price.

Update: The hours were 4pm till 10 or 11pm.... There were out there still wrapping at 11pm this past Sunday night.

$1.60/inch at MGM across from the Muppets, Oct. 2003. Beads are extra (50cents-$4 each), they MUST use spacers between each bead (25 or 50 cents each), and when they take the final measurement to charge you $1.60/inch, they INCLUDE the length of the beading as part of the overall length (in addition to paying for the beads). DD's wraps from WDW have always been very plain. They do a much nicer, fancier wrap at SeaWorld, across from the guest services kiosk, for $1.50/inch.

Wow, that could really add up, times 3 daughters (one with long hair)! I know they're going to want that done, we did it once but they did the underneath hair since their hair was so long....it was silly, you couldn't see it! I'm going to measure their hair tonight and see if we need a dorothy hamil before we go :)

My DD's last one cost $37. Her hair is not too long and she only got 2 beads. This trip we are getting a trim before we go!!

My GD has very long hair, mid back. We had her hair done at Sea World. With everything it cost $35.00 plus I gave a $10.00 tip. The girl did an awesome job, one of the better hair wrapping I've seen. Total cost was $45.00.

ouch mamu....
3 hair wraps for my 3 girls = one nights stay on disney property :) I know, my husband thinks I"m crazy, that's how I weigh things!

stinkerbelle, I remember taking the hair wraps out too, oh what a pain! My friends daughter had her hair wrap fall out with the hair inside....she had a hole in her hair...missing clump of hair, crazy!

I waited till my DD3 was sleeping to take it out. it took 45 mins. to get it all out without cutting her hair. we only left it in for four weeks. they say it can stay in longer but I didn't want to chance it. (missing hair/ holes)

maybe we will see you sometime this weekend stinkerbelle

we will be there 23rd-26th

stinkerbelle my husband was not supposed to know and somehow he found out that we are staying at AKL I'm the one who can't hide things.

mrszrw - 45 minutes? wow - I think even I would have given up and just hacked it off after that much time. I think it took me almost a half hour to get it all untied...and my hair inside was just gross...so if I get it done, I'll go underneath this time.

DH and I are staying concierge (it was an Xmas/Bday gift - so he splurged!) and are arriving the 23rd as well (late at night though) and leaving the 28th.

I'll be the girl walking around with princess ears on on Sunday - celebrating being one more year closer to 30! heheheheh

so funny, our trip is a b-day/x-mas gift to me from DH I had to do all the planning, since I'm the disney planning pro at our house. I'm slurging on AKL as well he just wanted to stay at POP.

I'll be the one chasing a almost 3 year old girl (who was not supposed to go on this trip but daddy felt guilt) around on Sunday.

:bounce: Depends on where you get it done. Have seen it for $1.00 to $3.00 per inch plus beads plus spacers etc. and yes they measure including beads etc. So it depends on how many braids, how long, and number of beads. My girls prefer to spend $ on other things than $30-$50 a crack.

Do it your self!!! Hair wrapping is easy and cheap to do!!! Just pick up 2 or 3 colors of embroidery thread (under $1.00 each at craft stores) and some beads. I can give detailed descriptions if you need...this could be done on the plane ride down or in the car or at the pool one day. The results are good, and the price is great!!!! It may take a bit of practice to get the knot right, but it is do-able. Or, they do sell these at the mall that are on a barette. You just use it when you want it. No ruined or lost hair...get them in different colors to match outfits...etc.

DDs both got it done at AK for $1.25 an inch, plus cost of beads (total cost was about $15.00)- it was $1.50 /inch on the boardwalk.

My DD got her last one in March and we finally cut it out in July. We always get hers underneath. She likes to keep it in a long time, but by then the hair is too damaged to just cut out the wrap. We have to cut the hair off. It's not too bad since it's underneath and we switch off the side she gets it on.
