Where do you store your refillable mug while in the park/on rides outside of a stroller? I will be carrying a smaller bag for my wallet, camera, poncho, and other small items, but it just occured to me... I plan on carrying my mug around but where will I put the thing while I'm riding?

Some carry a backpack. It would go in that.

Some clip the cup to their belt or waistband.

Some rent a locker at the park and put it in that.

Some don't carry the mug to the park.

I don't think you can refill your mug in the parks..I think it's just for the resort...so, you may not want to bring it -

You can only refill your mugs at the resort. So no need to carry to parks.

I usually finish the drink before we get to the park. I carry a gallon-sized ziploc bag in my backpack & throw the mug in there for the day.

Although you can't refill them in the parks, you can use them to transfer your leftover drinks into. We did that a lot at the parks. We also had an umbrella stroller in which the mug fit nicely through the handle.

I would think if you bring the mug into the parks you could take it with you on rides. Almost all rides had a storage net in them.

Cheers!

But, what if you eat breakfast, and then hit the busses to make it to the park for a specified time? You wouldn't want to have to trek back to your room, then to the stops.

I say grab a locker and stash it in there for the day.

Paying for a Disney locker to stash a mug would greatly diminish any savings from having the mug.

We usually eat breakfast, and one of us runs the mugs back to the room. I refuse to carry anything at all in the parks. I have a waist pouch for my necessities. No way would I walk around all day with a back pack and an empty mug!:scared1:

We use a backpack. If you do not have one, you may want to try clipping it to a belt loop with a carabiner. There is a posibility that you may lose the lid, but I find the lids fit pretty tight, so maybe that won't happen.

We brought carabiner clips (bought cheap at Walmart) and used those to clip the mugs to our sling bag. It worked great. We LOVE:lovestruc having our coffee/soda/tea on the bus in the morning. We would never leave without our full mugs. Sometimes we use them at the park for drinks. One day we did put them in a locker but only because we had purchases/jackets we also needed to store. Carabiners work great!

We had a free quick service dining PIN we used our last trip. It was our first experience with the mugs. We left them in our room and only used them when at the pool or after we came back to the room in the evening. That way we didn't have to lug them around the park, since we don't carry a bag with us.

If your bag has a detachable strap, detach the strap, thread it through the handle of the mug and hang it there for the rest of the day. I do that with my popcorn buckets and my camera bag.

We leave ours in our stroller... I figure no one would want to drink out of someone else drink.. :confused3
When they are empty we put them in the basket under the stroller...

I ALWAYS take ours to the park..
We are normally on the DDP and the drinks they give you are big enough drink what you want and then dumped the rest in the re-fill mug....

Also in AK the straws are made of paper... and the DO NOT give you lids..
Do to the animals..
(any parent knows lids are a must, which makes AK a hard park for drinks)
Re-fill mugs are the BEST in this park for kids, and clumsy moms like me!:rotfl2:

At IOA you get a free mug with your butterbeer. People clip them on their belts so they don't have to put them in a locker when they ride.

Honestly, I would find it annoying to carry around a mug or cup all day, especially if it's not washed and dried between uses.

I enjoy getting in line for the bus with a hot chocolate in hand, so I clip the cup to my small messenger bag/purse for the day with a carbiner. I rinse it at a restroom and use it for leftover drinks at the parks. After disembarking at night, I can grab a drink on my way to the room. My big problem is where to put them at home.

Thanks for all the advice. I didn't realize there were storage nets on the rides. Hadn't been to disney in a while

I have heard that some people hide their mug behind a bush at the resort bus stop and retrieve it at the end of the night when the return.

We rinse ours out in a water fountain, and then put in the bottom of the stroller, in a Target bag, or sometimes in the backpack...depending on how much we are carrying that day...Most of the time- bottom of the stroller!!!! GL Have a great trip!

I agree! I always use a carabiner that's attached to the strap of my park bag. I like to drink something while we're waiting for the bus in the mornings and also like to drop into the food court on the way back to our room at night for another drink.
