Random Q about refillable mugs

Last time we went to U/IOA they had a package deal with their mugs and popcorn. It was 2 drinks and a popcorn for $20. You had your choice of a Spongebob and/or Spiderman mug (HUGE cups too) which included FREE refills for your stay. We had two day tickets and got free refills for two days including the popcorn and it was good for both parks. It was awesome. There were no refill stations. You just went up to the carts and they filled you up.

I am still debating on the resort cups for us. We have the regular dining plan that doesn't include the free mugs, which I think is ridiculous. All the dining plans should include them and I can't for the life of me figure out why they don't. Anyway... The mugs would cost us $60 and I'm just not sure if its worth it. We get a drink with any meal we get there anyway, and we are only eating breakfast at the hotel one day, so I can't see it paying off in any way, but I like the idea of my kids having the souveneir. I know it would be great to have them to refill with water at least while we are in the parks so I don't have to pay $5 for a bottle of water. We will ahve a stroller to put them in so we don't have to carry them.

What do you all think?

I attach mine to my bag with a carabiner too. (And here I thought I was so clever when I "invented" this solution!)

If you want the kids to have them, then just buy 1 for each kid, and consider them a relatively cheap and useful souvenir! There's no reason you have to buy one for all of them.

We don't refill ours anywhere but the resort...but a lot of times, we fill it up with coffee and head off to whatever park we are headed to for the day...and in those cases...we rinse them and store them in the bottom of the stroller. I love a cup of coffee to bring on the monorail or the bus when we are headed out early!

I attach mine to a spare strap on my messanger bag. (The one that actually helps to secure the bag across the body) That way I can finish my morning drink on the way to the park, and then grab one when I get back to the resort as well instead of having to trek back to my room each time.

That mug is not free though! A serving of butterbeer in a disposable plastic cup is about $3.95, with the plastic souvenir mug it's about $9.95 I think.

That's good to know. Unless I really like the mug, I'll get the paper cup.
