Random Observations from May 24-31 Trip: Pandora, HEA, ROL, Pixar Concert and More

We got FPs to ToT at 8:30PM and rode that then rushed to SWaGS. We got there about 8:55 for a 9:30 showing. There were quite a few people backed up in front of the GMR but a lot of space in between the people. So we kind of moved forward into the space. We could have gotten even further forward but we were mindful of wanting to exit DHS as quickly as possible so we stayed back a little.

We thought it was fun and worth doing once, but not all that great. We would do it again bit not try especially hard like we would for HEA. What is Homecoming you are comparing it to for choice?

A new restaurant at Disney Springs getting rave reviews. Will already be at HS a full day and see Fantasmic. Would like to do another half day but come late after Ohana breakfast and leave early and go to dinner. Minimizing eating at HS is always good. Lol.

PTN was spectacular indeed. I hear they took it out of commission to have it refurbished. I also hear that the Electrical Parade may be coming back to WDW, sometime after its run at Disneyland. The final rumor is that Disney is developing a new high tech nighttime parade for WDW's 50th anniversary in 2021.

I hope PTN comes back somewhere. A new parade at MK for their 50th along the lines of PTN would be a huge addition. No one would ever mention SpectroMagic or the Electrical Parade again except out of the most extreme type of nostalgia.

YMMV, but if it was me comparing SWAGS to a dining experience at DS I would choose SWAGS. There are maybe a handful of dining options I would choose over SWAGS like a BOG dinner.

As others point out, you need to invest at least a little time getting to a good spot. If you cannot do that it may not be worth it.

The time isn't the problem. In fact I am shocked that you spent such little time waiting especially with such a busy week. I think I'll just take one for the family and watch it on YouTube. DH really likes Star Wars, me and the girls are take it or leave it and will have already done a lot of it by then. I just made a 50's prime time ressie for this evening so if we decide to stay I can still get some fried chicken. Thanks for the input.

SWAGS. How long did you wait for your good spot?

Is this show really good or just okay? I'm not sure they will have it while we are going. Trying to decide if it is worth missing Homecomin.

We thought it was really good, second only to the new Happily Ever After. DH was on this trip with DD and I for the first time in over 10 years, so we picked it for him. The last 3 trips have just been DD and I. After researching on here, we went with the dessert party to secure a good spot. We don't regret that, even with the cost, as the desserts, pitas, dips and cheeses as well as adult beverages included made this our "dinner". I will say it was a one and done for us for dessert parties though. All that being said, Happily Ever After blew away SWAGS for us! But, both are definitely worth seeing. I would make the time if you can but like everything at Disney we all have to pick and choose and prioritize...there's always the next trip! (hopefully!)
