So apparently there's a black light window at the UK pavilion in Epcot. Someone posted about it on FB, and now there's rumors flying about what it symbolizes. Anyone know the true story? :confused3

Rumors so far:

-Band backstage room
-Related to Jack the Ripper (kinda creepy for Disney, eh?)
-Something to do with Agent P
-Dr Who tribute
-Beatles or Pink Floyd

Hopefully this pic works! :) Wording isn't mine, but it was too amusing to not include. :rotfl2:

It isn't Agent P I can tell you that for sure.

I believe it is for the band. It might be their tech booth. I know their backstage area is around there.

Supposedly it stays on all night, though. Weird that they'd be working in black light all the time.

When I saw it in June I just automatically assumed it was one of those lights that attracts bugs - since the window was also open. I figured it would take them away from the guests below having snacks while watching the band. :confused3

It goes out at some point because when I clear the park for the night it usually isn't on.

Come to think of it there might be something to do with illuminations in that room. I can never remember what is what though because so much stuff is on the second floor of many of the buildings. Next time I'm in Epcot I'll have to ask my old manager what it is.

It's a tribute to Jimi Hendrix who wrote Purple Haze backstage at the Upper Cut Club in London on December 26, 1966.

That would have to qualify as the most obscure homage paid to anything at Disney if it's true.
