Can I just vent for a sec about amazon?

Yes, I bought Weekend Homesteader so I could figure out how to better use my small plot of land for gardening etc. But now I'm getting all these recommendations for poverty cooking, prepping, and stockpiling. Really?? I just want to grow a garden for crimenys sake, I'm not a doomsday prepper.
I just spent the last 1/2 hour trying to clean up my recommendations pages.

I appreciate the fact that they do that but geez Louise it drives me nuts sometimes.

OK, vent over!! :rotfl2:

good luck with the gardening

DH gardens in our backyard - tilling/digging is very important & mulching is too
that is all the help I can give - CT & TX will have alot different times to start/stop doing things

I'm not bothering with tilling. We are doing raised beds made from pallets. We have to much ledge here and digging it up is a pita!! Plus our land is covered in hay, the neighbors hay it, but we are reclaiming it to make a garden.

Once it's dried and baled it's good mulch but not when it's growing.
It sucks the nutrients out of the ground and we'd have to do a lot to get the ground fertile again.
It's easier for me to keep it mowed and just do the raised beds.
And I'm too lazy to do all that work! LOL
