Random Acts of Magic

So reading the thread taking place right now about people not wanting to give up their seat on the bus for elderly, pregnant, handicapped, or small children has made me want to start a new thread for people who are still kind and think of others. So I thought we could share some stories of things we did "Random Acts of Kidness" while at Disney to make anothers person's trip better.

For instance 2 years ago we had a member of our party drop out of going to MNSSHP so I found the cutest little kid in a costume I could spot and gave them the free ticket.

A while back another family lost their youngest child around the pool at CBR during breakfast and I offered to help them search for the child and once found I took their food in and got it replaced since the birds had devoured it while we were searching.

Does anyone else have stories of how they have helped others have a magicial time.

During the Year of a Million Dreams(think that's what it was called), our family of 4 was at MK and rode Peter Pan first. Waiting for us after we exited was a CM with dream fastpasses for all of us for the day. What a wonderful surprise! Well our kids were pretty young then and there were passes for a bunch of rides we wouldn't use so we found a nice family & gave them all to them-they were thrilled! I'd hate to keep something we couldn't use!

Hopefully the LateFP Fun Police don't come after me for this , but I believe in FastPass-it-Forward. Any FPs we can't use, we will hand them on to others - but not just any old others. We scout out a duo that we deem will appreciate them most.

(We also believe in FP Karma, because we seem to have received FPs from random strangers almost as many times as we've given them away.)

What a great thread! I've been a little disheartened on some of the others . Probably the best thing we did was go to Bell services and get some help for a family who had waited over an hour for an early morning bus (character breakfast). Other than that, I try to do little kindnesses throughout our day.

Last year, my husband was sick and we had to go to urgent care. On the van there was a woman with a sick child who had just gotten to WDW the night before and now her little one wasn't feeling well. She seemed very stressed...understandably so. Now the Disney transport will take you to Urgent Care, but NOT to the Walgreens down the street to get you Rx filled. It is about a7-10 minute walk and you have to cross about 6 lanes of BUSY traffic. PLus, we were there during a cold snap and it was about 55 deg. and windy. She wasn't too happy about doing this with her sick baby. We were already done and waiting for the van back to WDW, when the driver got there we asked him if there was anyway to help this woman out... that we certainly didn't mind waiting for her. So he took her to the pharmacy. I think the $40.00 we slipped him helped him decide. At Walgreens I waited in the van to make sure he didn't leave and my DH went into Walgreens to help the woman with the pharmacist who had been kinda jerky with us. It was just a small thing, but I like to think we were able to alleviate just a little bit of that woman's stress so she could return to her family a little happier than when she left. Now, I'm just hoping when we're there next month, neither one of us is sick. Urgent care is NOT my favorite attraction at WDW!

Gave away my Hidden Mickey book to a little boy. He was absolutely the cutest thing. He was in a wheelchair (don't know why but he was a tiny little fellow). It was his and his parental units' first trip.

However, his dad gave me the stink eye for creating yet another thing for him to do. The little boy was so happy to have something else to experience.

Wonder whatever happened to him? It was back in April of this year over Easter weekend.

When we have fast passes we can't use dh finds people to give them to.
This is Karma as people have done the same for us.
We have the dining plan and each year we can never use up all the TS and CS credits so I will walk around and look for people that do not have the dining plan and pay for their meals. Last year we had Le cellier and Crystal palace reservations we gave to strangers .
I bought a bunch of Disney silly bands last year and handed them out randomly to Kids who displayed good manners.
My ds and dh always will give up their seat to the elderly,pregnant or babe in arms mothers etc.
We behave at Disney no differently than we behave at home. My DH is a true gentleman and my DS (17) has learned from his father.
My mom is the most generous and thoughtful person I know and her random acts of kindness are as natural to her as breathing.
I try to live up to her but she set the bar very high.
I am a strong believer in Karma.

We done practically the same thing! We (me, DH and DS) got ours coming off of the Haunted Mansion ride and after we used a few of them for the "thrill" rides...we found a couple with an elementary school age child to give them to as there were quite a few attractions on there we weren't going to use it for that would be suitable for a younger child. They were thrilled.

I think getting the dream passes for us was one of the highlights of our trip, I think it made their day too as the parks were pretty crowded.

While getting breakfast at the Main St. Bakery in MK a couple of weeks ago, and while in line one of the bakers gave my DS (4) a chocolate chip cookie that was bigger than his head! The look on my sons face at the sight of the giant cookie was priceless! I guess I assume this is something they might randomly do, but it was a special surprise among our day.

One time I was checking out the pins in Uptown Jewelers, when two kids visiting from England wanted to see the pins I had on my lanyard. The kids had no pins or lanyards of their own. So I let teach child choose and have one of the pins I was wearing, just to get them started.

I'll never forget seeing the smiles from those two after giving them each a pin.

2 years ago, I gave 2 lanards and 2 pins to a mom and daughter , while we were waiting for Snow White. They were most appreciative, even though they didn't speak English. Then, last year I met them again at the food court of our resort. She remembered us, and told her family/entourage all about us giving them the pins and lanards. It made me feel good twice.

Two years ago my wife & I gave away our Fast Passes to another couple that looked disappointed as they approached Soarin' because they stopped distributing them. Since my wife & I already went a few days earlier, we decided to give it to someone else so they can enjoy it.

WOW!! This was extremely nice of you and I bet you made that woman's day right there. God forbid, any of us get sick at Disney, especially my kids because it would be such a hassle but I think you definitely helped out that woman!

I love doing that! We do that quite frequently. I love making a persons day better.

I am sure the Dis mug police will be after me for this, but I like to give my resort mug away when checking out to an incoming family. I have also purchased snacks with my snack credits for people in line waiting to buy snacks.

Well, I can't take credit, because my son was the beneficiary of someone else's kindness. He has Down Syndrome, and was 12 or 13 at the time. He did not (and still doesn't) understand why he can't buy any offered product if he has some money (or tickets in this case). The concept that some things cost more than others, and we can't getthe items that cost more than we have, just hasn't clicked.

We were in the arcade on our last night. After saving tickets all week he still didn't have enough for he wanted. It was something like 600 points, and he had like 300 - so we weren't just talking about a few points. There was couple there cashing in all their tickets. They did not have any children with them, and overheard me "discussing" the situation with my son. They just handed him several zip-lock baggies full of tickets, saying they didn't really need them. He had enough for the toy he wanted, plus a few other small items. He was ecstatic.

We usually stay at OKW so we buy groceries and if we see a family checking in on the day we check out we'll pass along our groceries that are still good like cans of soda or bags of chips.
