Random acts of kindness...

Wow, TinerbellTish that was so nice of you. I am sure they remember that whenever they think about their trip

I have given fastpasses away many times but one time sticks out. We gave a dad and his daughter two extras we had for Space Mountain She had finally gotten the courage to ride but the standby was 60 minutes and they were out of fp's. I noticed them debating whether to wait in that long line and remembered I had my brother's fp's still and he had left the park already. They ended up sitting behind us and it was so fun to hear that little girl enjoying her first ride on Space.

Okay, thanks. Sitting here crying after that. I am such a sap, I can't hardly read these things without tears coming to my eyes. I hope no one from the DIS ever sees me at the Parade or Fireworks, I could never live it down!!

O.K this was almost 3 years ago, but I am still pretty proud of us. We were eating by space mountain at the pizza port place. It was like 7p.m. This family of 5 sits down at the table next to us. I heard the boy who at the time was probably my son's age or a little older (my ds at the time was 5) He asked his mom and dad for pizza cause he was hungry. I could hear the parents arguing about how it was their last night, and they didn't know food was so much and they were out of money. They had enough to buy 2 drinks for them all to share. That's when I heard the girl probably 1o years old say "we don't get dinner?. And her mom said honey we have no money left, I'm so sorry. And I could tell the mom was starting to cry. I couldn't take it. I bought a large and a medium pizza for just the 3 of us. We had only eaten the medium pizza, so I turned around and told the mom "it's o.k. you can all have this, it hasn't even been touched, there's enough for all of you". She started crying. We just got up and smiled and walked away. I never felt better.

Oh boy, that was even worse. I just about shorted out me keyboard reading this. Thank you, this reminds me why I love the place so much!

While I am positive I have had things done for me I am ashamed to say none stand out in my memory but we give away fast passes all the time as well.

WE had collected 5 passes each for about 5 rides all throughout the day and then we were too tired after our tour to stay so dh gave the whole stack to a family. I don't think they even knew what they were getting and I told dh I hope they realize that they could still use them since the times were past.

But we have also let people in line for things or helped people out.

It makes you feel good to do so.

Andrea, dont worry. I get misty at the firework shows at WDW. I try to hide it from my hubby and kids. Because he really doesnt get it. But , That pizza story that you shared tink. I had to hold back the tears. Wow, what a story. sigh.

Ok, I have given out fastpasses countless times. In sept when my son and I went on a bonding trip together to WDW. We were riding expedition everest. When it broke down. Well, we had to walk off the ride, and after we walked through the mountain, and out the exit a castmemeber is there issuing special fastpass tickets. Well, we had to leave so we gave them both to this lady who loved the ride.

On that same day. My son and I were heading back to our hotel via disney bus from animal kingdom. It was only us, and another couple, they sat right across from us. I was talking to my son about getting some of his homework assignments done. Before we had to head back out to dinner. So the couple and I strike up a small conversation about expedition everest, shows, etc and where we both reside. Then they start quietly talking amongst each other. We arrive at the hotel. The couple get up and the husband says to my son. I want to give you this card young man, he says you seem like a great young man. Very respectul and kind. Its to the arcade. They wave and say have a great rest of your trip. I was in shock. I kept saying no thank you. They insisted he take it. Well, we didnt get to go to the arcade until the day before we were leaving. Do you know, that card had 20 dollars on it. How more than kind of them!! My son still talks about those kind generous people till this day!

Well, last year Me and the DW were at epcot(yes I know this is a DL thread but bear with Me):duck: . We wanted to go on soarin' but the line was ridiculous and the fastpasses were gone for the day. out of the blue a couple walks up to us and says "we have these fastpasses for soarin', but we've got a dinner date, would you like them?" We said "yes", somewhat in disbelief and thanked them. Later that week We went back to Epcot planning to go on soarin' again, so We got fastpasses early. It turns out WE ran out of time ourselves for a dinner date. So what did We do? you got it, We turned to the nearest couple and asked them if they wanted fastpasses to soarin'. They accepted instantly. So that's My somewhat karmic act of kindness.:hippie:

Here come the waterworks.....WOW!

We have booked our last three trips to Disneyland through AAA. With our package we always get a coupon book, of which we only use a few coupons. So as we are leaving, we give whatever coupons we have left to a nice family to use.

Also, last time we went, we had just gotten off the Grizzly River Run ride (with our ponchos) and since we had decided it would be our last water ride, we gave our ponchos to some seniors who were eyeing up the ride but couldn't commit because they could see all the wet people getting off the ride. They were very appreciative and excited to go on the ride with ponchos. (But silly me, forgot we also needed them in case it rained - February) Of course it did, the next day but we just bought more from the stores and now use them every year. It was worth it - I am sure we made their day.

When my daughter was 6, she started pin trading. She had a blast and loved to trade with EVERY Cast member and talk their ear off in the process (not at all shy). She was trading/talking to one of the Cast Members in the Mexican Restaurant in Disneyland at lunch time. Hours later, we were all the way back by ToonTown and this Cast Member came up to us and said she was looking for us. At first, I had no idea who she was or why she would be looking for us. She had remembered my daughter and wanted to GIVE her two pins before she left for the day. That really made our trip. It's those little things that make Disneyland the Happiest Place on Earth.

This thread is GREAT! I am loving reading all these touching stories. These are the things that make Disneyland so special.

We've given away fast passes countless times. I can't stand watching people take pictures of their families and they're not in the photo. It's so much fun to take pictures of other families and couples. My son and daughter were given Million Dream pins and had so much fun looking for someone to share with.

This past Christmas we handed out candy canes and Hershey Kisses with cards to cast members who were nice to us. We printed "Thanks for making our Christmas special" on the cards. We did this because we felt guilty having a good time while the cast members had to give up time with their families. The cast members couldn't believe that we were thanking them!

My husband has given pins to kids who are learning to trade. It's so much fun to watch the kids faces when they get a pin without trading.

Yeah, that incident just always stuck with me because the little girl had so much fun on the ride. I cry at the parades too and Remember is a real tear fest for me. If I ever see you, I'll just either pass or ask to borrow the kleenex!

P.S. You are going to love BWV and Port Orleans!

I think the best act of kindness I've received is the generous gentleman who extends us invitations to Club 33. Honorable mention goes to the cast member who takes us to Company D to score the super deals, especially on pins for trading.

My son gave my favorite though. Each year at the end of the school year he gets a gift- a tradition started when he had a hell-on-earth kindergarten experience with a teacher who made him cry multiple time a week. Anyway, at the end of second grade we asked what he wanted and he told us he wanted to take our adult friend Wilhelm on our planned vacation to DL. My baby wanted to give someone else a trip to Disneyland for his present. I don't think I've ever been prouder. So... DH and I had APs and our hotel package came with 2 park hoppers, making Wilhelm's ticket free. We upgraded from a room to a suite for not too much more so the main cost was plane fare. We had a wonderful week and it ended up being a gift for all of us.

On the very last day of our trip to DL, my girls really wanted to see Cinderella. We had seen lots of princesses at Ariel's Grotto and had seen Sleeping Beauty at storytime in the castle shop, but hadn't seen Cinderella yet. We got to the park early and off to the side of the castle was Cinderella. I think she had just gotten there because there was no line to see her yet. My husband spotted her and yells "there's Cinderella" and whipped the stroller around and starts running towards Cindy. Hilarious. It was like he was some crazed fan. Anyways, we got the girls picture taken with her and she was adorable and very sweet to the girls. I hadn't gotten my picture taken with any of the characters because I was usually holding the baby or taking a picture or something. I must have been over to the side looking longingly at her (she was one of my faves when I was a little girl), because Cinderella looked over at my girls and said "Let's get a picture with Mom, too" She was so cute and absolutely made my day!! I just think it is so sweet when the CM's really take notice of things like that and do small things to make your trips a little more magical princess:

Yesterday, i saw someone buy like 10 balloons from the vendor, then gave them all away... there goes $70...

I was in line in Star Traders and there was a family ahead of me. Their little daughter (maybe 5 or 6) was trading a pin with a cast member. Mom was holding a little one (2 or 3) who was watching her sister and wanted to do like her big sister, but they were telling her, "No, you don't have any pins to trade"--so I gave her one of my extras (asked Mom first of course). The good feeling:goodvibes was worth many times the value of the pin!

I had another opportunity to "share the love" when I was there last month. This time, a cast member was explaining to an older lady (well, older than me!:lmao: ) how pin trading worked. She'd seen him and thought he was giving pins away so he was telling her that you had to have one to trade with him. That's about the time I walked up to check out his lanyard. He had a pin she really wanted, so I just gave her one of my traders so she could trade. She thanks me profusely, but then looks at the pin and says, "Oh, I really like this one, too!" So I said, "Well, keep it and here's another one to trade." She was so tickled, she traded and then pinned both on her sweatshirt. She was saying, "Is this how you wear them?" and the smile on her face was priceless! It made my day!

On Friday, we were in the Emporium just before the fireworks. We had originally gotten four of the 10% off a $50 purchase or 20% off a $100 purchase coupons with our parkhoppers because we ordered online. It was our last night and we had finished our shopping. I still had one coupon left. Since we had seen little of the Dream Squad, I decided to do a shoulder tap of my own!;) I found two older ladies picking out sweatshirts to wear during the fireworks and gave them our coupon! It was really great to make their night and felt good to share some Disney Magic!

After my parents died, I decided to take my son to Disneyland. I had finished nursing school, so money was extremly tight. While walking through downtown Disney a lady approached me and asked me how long I was staying, and then gave me about $200.00 of Disney food vouchers. She was there with her family courteousy of the Tiger Woods Foundation.

Last year in WDW I gave away all my extra food coupons, 7 movie tickets and my remaining tickets for Universal. I always get funny reactions from people--they act like I am trying to sell them a bridge--but it makes me feel good and I will never forget that woman who made our trip better!:flower3:
