Ramps To Monorail @ TTC

Just wondering how steep these ramps really are. I'm renting a scooter (probably a Revo) for our WDW vacation. Will this thing make it up the ramp to the Monorail? I'd sure hate to get half way up then get stuck! :scared1:

They will make it up, but the ramps are steep at the TTC and also at MK.
There are no elevators at either site.
Here is a picture of the ramp going up at TTC; this is about 1/2 of the way up from ground level.

This is the ramp going down at MK.
It's not easy to see how steep it is, but it is as steep as the one at TTC.

Wowzer! Those are pretty steep! Guess I'll have my men folk behind me to give me an extra push if I need it. We have to take the Monorail for our 8:05 ADR at Crystal Palace because the ferries won't be running that early. Lucky there are 4 grown men going with me! ;)

Thanks Sue!

The ramps aren't too bad. We use them a lot. Epcot even has an elevator up to the platform. We just learned that on our last trip.

::yes::
An elevator to go up, but a ramp to go down. The ramp at Epcot is better though because it has a shorter ramp followed by a flat area.

As you are walking toward the monorail station Epcot, look to the right just after you have gone past the overhead monorail sign. The elevator is behind a short wall to the right of the path.

You shouldn't need a push on any ramp - but if you have to stop on an upward incline, have them stand in a group a few feet behind you! I've found the ECV tends to roll a bit backwards no matter what I do when I try to move forward on a hill

LOL
an important point! Gravity works on the ramps.

Thanks for the tips everyone. :) A couple more questions, if you don't mind.

When I'm ready to board the monorail, do I need to find a CM to put down the ramp for me, or are they pretty good at looking out for those in WCs and Scooters? Are the handicap entrances near the front, back or middle of the Monorail?

I've been using scooters in our local grocery stores, zoos & Walmarts for over a year now, so I'm pretty good at handling them...even the 4-wheelers. I'll have a 3-wheeler in WDW which has a much tighter turn radius.. do you think I'll have any problems boarding the Monorails? Are there any queues that are particularly difficult?

They are pretty good about it, but occasionally they can get busy with other stuff. If you do have some other people in your party, it might not hurt for somebody to maybe stick their head out and wave somebody over to make sure.

In my experience, though, 99.9% of the time, they are waiting right there with the ramp - but its the .001% of the time that you have an important reservation that something's gonna happen.... its Murphy, y'know?

The ramp at TTC and MK monorail are steep for a scooter. I used to own a Pride Go-Go, which didn't have so much battery life (10 miles/charge). On those ramps, and also on the ramp to enter The Land at EPCOT, I had family members push the scooter up the incline just to save battery power. You will be surprised how much power is pulled from your battery to go up an incline! (Hint: while someone is pushing you from behind, make sure you are still giving a push on the throttle. If you aren't on the throttle, you are automatically on the BRAKES!)

You will also be surprised how much battery power you will use to go around EPCOT for a long day visit. If you can plug your scooter in while you dine or take a break, it would be wise. With my small scooter, it wouldn't make it 'til 9pm fireworks at EPCOT. I had a second battery pack in the car and I would switch it out around dinner-time. I have a bigger scooter now just to avoid that inadequate battery situation.

You won't have trouble going up and down the ramps into the monorail. Just steer straight. Like going in or out of a garage.

The Pride Revo is a good scooter, and you should enjoy using it. :):):)

Thanks for the tip about having my guys "help" me up the ramps so I can preserve battery power. The battery going dead is my biggest concern about this trip. I didn't have a problem at all at DL last year, but I'm thinking Epcot is bigger than DL and DCA put together. :lmao:

The Revo batteries supposedly will last 20 hours, but I know that's based on a flat surface and going at a snail's pace.

I'll be sure to bring the charger with me and hopefully find someplace to plug it in while dining. We're a fast food type family though, so don't know if I'll have many options.
