I found something online for westgate resorts and you can book a 4 day 3 night stay there for $169 plus 2 disney park tickets and a coupon book and cruise coupon. Seems great. Booked it today but is this legit? The hotel is Ramada, 1 mile from Disney. Any additional nights are $29.99 per night. I was told I will need to just show my dl and in order the qualify they ask a few other q's such as income, household, etc. Nothing too big but I want to make sure I just didn't give my money away to a scammer. ONLY catch they claim is to sit thru a 90 min thing on their resorts. I don't care about that. I won't be pushed into anything. Is this legit? Anyone ever done this.

It's probably ok. Just don't be surprised if half of your day is ruined being shuttled in and out of sales rooms. There most likely will be lots of unexpected strings attatched as well. We did stay at the Ramada last month though and had a great time.

Congratulations, you have just signed up for the dreaded Westgate Timeshare tour.

They have a reputation and it's not good!

It will take MORE then 90 minutes. And remember thier 90 minutes does not start until THEY start selling. So any time you spend eating etc at thier visitor location is NOT part of the 90 minutes.

You will have to tell a continuing parade of "managers" NO. Start practicing NO know. Say it loud and often.

Prepare for a lot of pressure and attempts to "guilt" you for wasting thier time and taking advantage of the "freebie"

DO NOT BUY!! Westgate resales drop like a rock in value. If you want one there are lots of CHEAP ones for sale.

I won't do the timeshare tour hotel deal. Just not worth it, but others think it's fine.

Thanks. I realize this now but unfortunately cannot back out but I am saying NO. My presentation is scheduled at 8 am Tuesday morning. Are you saying that at 9:30 it's not over and I am not allowed to walk out? That for 90 mins all I'm gonna hear is how terrible I am because I won't buy? That's ridiculous but thanks for letting me know so I can prepare. Tuesday is our first day at wdw and I want to get there by 10:30. Is that feasable with an 8 am appt? I'm wondering if maybe I can book it for Monday night? Will they allow me to change it? I will dispute the extra charges if they even DARE try to charge me more. I was told to check into the center first and then go onto the hotel. TIA.

Yeah, it will probably take more like 2-3hrs. Remember, their sales pitch doesn't start until you are done eating and you don't get your tickets or prize until you leave.
Once it starts, they will use every tactic to wear you down and make you actually think that you need it, you want it, you can't live without out it. They will tell you that you can make money renting it out. They'll tell you they property value will go up. They'll tell you that they will give you a special deal that is only good for that day. All Lies!!! Then a manager will come over and try to offer you another special deal. When you think you are done, they take you into a back room and try to give you the "Insider's Deal".
When you are really done and you get your tickets they usher you out the back door so you're a mile away from you car.
Be prepared, the salesmen are professionals at convincing people to give up their money. So if you start to think that buying a time share is a good idea just ask yourself, is this how normal people buy things? Wouldn't I shop around first? That should give you enough time to regain your senses.

This hotel usually books at under $40 a night - so they're not really giving you much of a 'deal' on the room.

We stayed at Ramada for one night before heading over to ASMu last year, and didn't have the best experience at this old hotel, but others like it. Check TripAdvisor for some good information.

If it were me, I'd really try to cancel - even to the point of canceling through my credit card company. I'm usually a very strong believer in 'buyer beware', but I think this is such a shyster company that I think it's legit to get out of it any way you can.

In my opinion, nothing is worth the stress and hassle (and time wasted!) of some sleazeball locking me in a room and trying to sell me something I don't want during MY vacation time! :scared:

Vacation is supposed to be time away from stuff like this :thumbsup2
