A little background: My daughter lives in Los Angeles, I live in Portland. I bought the 5 day park hopper tickets for the price of a three day. We intended to stay three days at the Fairfield Inn, drive back to L.A and then come back again for a day trip to use up our ticket. After I realized how long the drive actually was, I booked us a room at the Ramada at Maingate. I was nervous about doing so because the reviews I'd read were so negative. I can only say I guess how you view it is based on what your expectations are.

This hotel was very inexpensive (internet rate of $88 + tax ($102 total). I expected this place to be a run down, bare bones motel. Was I ever surprised!

The staff was great. I arrived early and my room was ready. It had a microwave and a fridge which comes in very handy indeed. The Fairfield only offered a fridge...leftovers are useless if you can't heat them up!
The property has a coffee shop, pizza place and a mini market. It's walking distance was even closer than the Fairfield...which I had originally chose because it offered room service...which I never utilized.

The room had two double beds which suited our needs perfectly, but I suspect it would have been a little crowded for two adults to share one of these beds.

When we were checking out I remarked how much I enjoyed my stay and how I would definitely return. The assistant manager (Angela) was pleased to hear this and helped us book another room for my daughter to use when she and her boyfriend returned the next week. She gave them a suite for only $10 more a night.

thank you for sharing, that room actually looks pretty decent compared to some others i've seen.

Thanks for sharing. We have been nervous about our upcoming stay in June. We reserved the King Jacuzi suite and have been worried because of some reviews. This helps to ease our minds and thanks for the pics :)

i've stayed in the ramada and loved it. in nov we are getting the 2 queen room. rooms are spacious and while its pretty bare bones versus something like gch we really only need a place to crash and a hot tub:rotfl:
