Anyone stayed here? I like the proximity and the free brekky. Saves time and money.

Any advice?

We've stayed there for 4 years in a row. We always book with the AAA discount - make sure you do it early for there are limited amount of rooms at this price.

The rooms are very nice, but not luxurious. Last trip we didn't get the best AAA rates, but ended up in a top-floor room with a king bed, a fold out single bed and a roll-away. It was much nicer than the other rooms we had stayed in, and since it was on the top floor you didnt hear the noise above you when people returned from a day at DL.

AAA messed up our reservations big time I knew more about the hotel than them!), so I recommend just calling up the RMG yourself. The staff has always been very friendly & helpful, even with the messed up reservations. They even give you a call when you are settled in your room to see if there is anything you need.

We always drive down, check in around 3:00. We did get there early once, but they gave us everything we needed to go swimming until the room was ready. The pool is large and has a nice shallow end for the little ones. The water has always been rather cool in there (I prefer warmer water, but the kids never seem to mind).

After settling in, we head over to DTD to shop at the WOD & take in the "feel" of Disneyland! Then we get to bed early, eat breakfast & get to the park for rope drop. The breakfast is adequate, but then we never eat a large one so it's perfect for us. It's toast, bagels, danish, cold cereal, fruit, juices, coffee & tea. I think that's it.

It's nice because we walk over to DL from there - only about a 10 minute walk, spend the day, then come back for our car after we close the park down and drive back to my parent's house. It's nice to just drive in and leave the car, not worrying about driving anywhere once you're there.

The only negatives are that the room a/c units are VERY loud, but then they always seem to be at most hotels we stay at, and that the ceiling/floor is not soundproofed very well. I always wake up when people return from a day at the park. It can sound like a heard of elephants.

Overall, it's a nice place. You park and eat breakfast for free, it's very close, has a nice pool, and is within walking distance of a lot of places to eat. My kids always want to eat at the IHOP just a couple of blocks away.

It's probably more info than you wanted, but I'm always happy there. I've never stayed in any other good neighbor hotel since I've no serious complaints, so I cannot compare/contrast to anything else. But since we don't spend much time in the room, it's just fine.

I hope this helps!

That does help! Thanks so much!

Any other comments? No info is too much.

We've stayed here a few times. The price is good and the continental breakfast is decent. The rooms were clean, but nothing spectacular. The pool looks ncie, but we didn't use it as it was winter. I agree about the AAA discount, book early if using it.

We have only stayed here once. The rooms were clean, we did have to move rooms because of a broken bed in the first one. They tried to fix it, with no luck so we were moved. The person who mentioned the AC's being loud is not kidding, even a little bit. DH is a pretty light sleeper, so he had some trouble with it at first, but after we wore ourselves out running around all day, it was better. The 2nd room's AC was better than the first, maybe they were in the process of remodeling? I didn't notice noises from the other rooms though and we were on the first floor.

The pool was fine. I agree with the PP, it was a little cool for me, but DH thought it was fine. (He swims in the Pacfic ocean when we go in May and thinks it's OK too ... so I wouldn't go by him. )

The breakfast was the usual fare. We would sit by the pool to eat, so that was nice. Tony Roma's is basically in the hotels parking lot so we ate there one night too cause DH loves those ribs!.

The walk to DL's entrance was not bad at all. The front desk staff was nice.

Overall, it was OK. Would we stay here again, yes, but only if we got a better rate. It was not worth $125/night. It was the most we have paid for any hotel we have been to around DL. (We didn't have time to "shop around" for the best deal that time.) The year before we stayed at the Anaheim Plaza, which I think is the next hotel down on Harbor, and it was also fine for us. However, we only paid an internet rate of $59/night there. We got a room with a view of the TOT in DCA and we could see the fireworks from our balcony at night. The staff there were nice also and the pool is huge. The walk from there wasn't bad either. The room was clean and bed comfortable.

This time when we go we are trying out the Best Western Anaheim Inn for a couple nights before moving for our very first stay at the GC!! I am sooooo excited! Good luck with making your decision and have a great trip!!
