Ramada Maingate-renovations for 2013

I have been reading reviews on this motel & there is always conflicting reports. I have two questions about it. First are the rooms updated & renovated? Also they show a rendition on their website of a new updated front of their motel coming in 2013. But no one has mentioned this in any other reports. Any comments on this from guests who frequent this motel?

i was just over there about 3 weeks ago because i had to pick something up...i talked to a couple of front desk people including a manager in regards to the renovations and they never mentioned updating the front of the hotel...doesnt mean they aren't but the only thing they talked about was the room renovations...

I have stayed at the Ramada Maingate about two times every year for the last 4 years. I think it is good motel right near the park. I have always found the rooms clean and the staff friendly. The price is great for being walking distance. They have re-done some of their rooms. You can request those rooms and pay a little more for them. You can see the difference easily (I've stayed in both) but I have no complaints about any of the rooms I've been in. The pool areas had been renovated and is very nice. The breakfast is OK. it does the trick, but nothing special. Each room has a fridge and microwave so you can easily supplement. I will admit I have never stayed in the back end of the Maingate. Every time I have been close to the front. I would imagine that it could feel like a long walk from the back.

Yep, one section of the hotel (the ones they tout as view of the park/fireworks that is either 3 or 4 floors tall) are their "premium" rooms, those are the ones they renovated. Some of the other rooms are just "ok". The pool area was redone last year and is nice and kids love it.

Last year we had issues with the tv (not flat screen) in the "deluxe" rooms, the sound was terrible.

This huge remodel of the property seems to be more a concept than plan. Its date keeps getting pushed back, I remember when it was supposed to be finished as of right now.

Thanks for the info. If we have this motel on our list I will gladly pay for the "premium rooms". Now I know what to ask for.
