I currently have a ressie for Ramada MG. I have been reading alot about Park Vue and am wondering if I should switch, I see that PV is right across the street from DL. Are these 2 hotels right next to each other? I can get MG for about 18 less per night and I'm not sure if it is worth switching for the better breakfast. Anyone have opinions comparing theses 2 hotels? TIA :goodvibes

Harbor Hotels are all very close together.

The difference in walk time is about 1 or 2 minutes.

With Ramada is has nicer pool, it's brand new and has a beach style entry, and water play area. Great for kids.

With Park View you can get dinner. They have a social hour with some light fare from 5 to 7. So if you can make that your dinner, some people do and some don't, it could save you that food cost. Of course it has a better breakfast too.

For our trip last Nov.(our first trip ever to DLR) we stayed at the RMG and really liked it. It did not have to new pool, but the old one was great too. The double queen room we had was very large and comfortable and very clean. We didn't have any issues while staying here. The breakfast was sufficient for my family - cold cereal and milk, dry pastries, hard boiled eggs, fruit, oatmeal, toast, coffee, juice. I would stay there again if the price was right. We paid $128/night. For our upcoming trip this July, we have choosen the Park Vue. A few reasons why we chose Park Vue this time were - we are on a tighter budget and got a fantastic rate in January, the breakfast offers more hot items which, they offer an evening social that could easily be a supper for us (for free!), free bottled water and cookies, not to mention it got fantastic reviews from many visitors! We also like that it is right across the road, although the RMG isn't much further away. If I would have gotten the RMG cheaper than the PVI, I probably would have went back to it but the PVI beat out the RMG by $15/night which can add up! We also choose PVI because they have bunk beds and thought it would be much better of a sleep for our kids, and us too, not having to listen to them fight over bed space!! Good luck and have a wonderful time no matter which place you chose!!

I have stayed at the Ramada Maingate many times since I was younger when taking family trips. Just recently stayed there in January with friends and loved it! It is so close, and like previous posters have said, the two hotels are only gonna make a 1-2 min difference in walking time. I would stay with the Ramada since you already have your reservations down. :)

Hey there.
We stayed at the PV only so I can't compare the two. My kids say that is the ONLY place they ever want to stay at DL! The beds were comfy, can't get much closer and we did the break/dinner and were fueled up from both! Friendly staff...goody basket, free wifi, fruit, cookies, & water in the lobby. It is a bit noisy but ear plugs helped (Too exhausted to care at night anyway!)
The swimming pool/hot tub were nice. Yes, in the middle of the parking lot but surrounded by green/shrubs so hardly felt weird.

I did a review on this message board and a post on trip advisor.

Anyhoot - Here is a pic I snapped from the sidewalk in front of the Cold Stone/Park Vue. Hard to see but the Ramada is just a short distance (the red sign where the gentleman in the gray shirts/black shorts head is :)

A little bit further down S. Harbor in front of the Best Western Anaheim Inn
The red business sign behind the Scion is the Ramada.

Thanks everyone - I think I am sticking with the RMG as I can get it $18 cheaper per night with a gas credit at checkout. Sounds like we will be happy with our choice! :goodvibes :cool1:
