Has anyone stayed at the Ramada Inn Gateway in Kissimmee? It's on 192 about a mile from WDW! My DW and I are planning on staying here on our arrival night of June 13th..b/c we can't check in until the 14th at Pop Century. I tried to add anohter night but the rooms were booked...SO I had to keep the original reservation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I believe we stayed there for our first night in 2007. Our plane landed very late and we just didn't want to pay 200 to sleep in a Disney bed so we began our disney reservations the next day. If this is the same hotel it was fine for us just for the night...but, it smelled very strongly of chlorine because of the indoor pool and our carpet felt damp. Like I said, we arrived at about 1 am and left at 7 am so it wasn't a big deal. We slept fine and the room was clean (other than the damp feeling carpet). I don't know if the carpet was just very cold from the a.c. because I don't remember wet socks or DS's wet clothes from crawling. My parents stayed there once before for the same reason, so they thought it was okay enough to go back.

I'll tell you we are not hyper picky about our rooms...our expectations are that they are clean...sheets/bathroom/surfaces etc. and we expect to be treated properly. The room/hotel did that for us.

Thanks...as long as the rooms are clean and it's cheap, I really don't care. We're only going to be there one night. And it's close to Downtown Disney too :)

That's how we felt! We are staying at the comfort inn lake buena vista which is just down the street from downtown disney in the other direction. On the same street as Olive Garden this year. Our flight doesn't land until 11:30 so after getting luggage/car I don't think we'll be there until 1/1:30, check in, sleep, wake up early and head over to POR to meet up with the rest of our Grand Gathering for breakfast.

That's an idea too!!! I need some other suggestions and i'm glad you mentioned this. But as it stands I think we'll stay at the Ramada Inn unless I find something cheaper :)

I think the ramada inn is cheaper...at least when we are going, but my sis is staying there too so we're just going to go there.

We stayed there for 1 night last year (3 girls) and it was OK. The fridge was leaking all over the floor and they didn't replace it until later the next day after trying to fix it. Older resort but location is great - just beware of Epcot and DHS closing. We got stuck in a massive traffic jam on 192 after the parks let out!

Have also stayed at the Comfort Inn LBV a few times and like it better. Also old and worn, but always found it clean. And alot closer to DTD than the Ramada. Keep an eye on travelzoo.com for deals on this hotel.
