This hotel is too far to walk from (and i'm one who's willing to do some walking).
When you are talking about shuttles, can you flush out what you mean? This hotel doesn't have their own shuttle. They do however have an ART stop directly in front of the hotel. I want to say theres two stops after this one on the way into the parks, and I think it's the 4th stop on the way back from the parks. Shuttles in theory run every 20 mins. We only took the shuttle to once (and waited about 15+ mins) and once back (almost 20 minutes, and they happened to have to pull an extra shuttle, so the regular route shuttle wasn't there for whatever reason). The shuttle back at closing time was pretty full, I think the last folks to get on had to stand (this would have been midweek the week after traditional spring break). It worked, and I have to say was just as fast time-wise as getting back to a shuttle/tram to a parking lot and driving back to the hotel. At least when dropped off it was RIGHT in front of the hotel.
You could also drive to Toy Story or M&F structure. Again, not sure you really save time either way.
We stayed here in April. It was just me and my unpicky three kids. We stayed in a King w/sofa sleeper room (my girls are 6, so the three of us slept in the King sized bed). My son took the sofa sleeper.
Review: it served it's purpose. I definitely can verify that the elevator did have gross carpet and it smelled a bit (not as bad as some folks made it out). It's more of a glorified motel than a hotel. The furnishings really were in a bad need of a make-over. It seemed as if they redid the rooms semi recently in terms of bedding and TV's (flat screens) but the furnishings- no. Yes, it needed new carpeting. But the bathroom in our room was clean, and the room overall was clean. I can only tell you to go in expecting a Motel 6, and then you probably won't be disappointed.
They did have a basic+ continental breakfast. Juices (orange and cranberry) and milk and orange juice, IIRC, and make your own waffles and cereal/toast/muffins. Heavy carbs, but ok enough. Didn't use the pool at all, but it is tiny, not much bigger than the hot tub.
I only paid like $58 a night or something like that- it fit my small budget for that trip. For a fairly comfortably, clean, but rough around the edges room, it did ok, plus got us fed in the morning. The ART stop right outside was nice. The shuttles are better if you take them in offpeak times, like leave the parks that extra 30 mins before say, after the first WOC show ends/after fireworks/etc.
Go in expecting BASIC and you should be ok.
If you park in Toy Story, according to many "regulars" I've read share their experiences, the disney shuttles to/from that parking lot are plentiful and quick.
