Has anyone ever stayed in the Baymont Inn & Suites near the Raleigh-Durham Airport? We are spending the night there before our flight. It seems nice and they have free breakfast--they say w/ "make your own waffles" YUM! We will only be there to sleep, but I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if it was a decent, clean place in a fairly safe area?

TIA!!

You'll be fine there. There's not much in that area, a couple of restaurants and hotels. I believe there is a Texas Steakhouse and Saloon next door, if you need to have dinner that's a good place. I have personally never stayed there but business associates have stayed there and they seemed happy enough with it. I don't think you'll have anything to worry about safety-wise either, just use the same common sense you would use at any hotel.

I think they've actually built up the area if it's where I'm thinking of (BIL lives sort of near there-you go past it to get where he lives anyway). Baymonts are generally nice though, so I wouldn't worry about it at all-Book it!

It's fine. I stayed there when I came out house-hunting/interviewing. Saucymb is right, there's a Texas Steakhouse about a block down the road. Also, there's the Morrisville outlet mall right across the street from the hotel. The mall has an Italian restaurant and some outlet stores. There's a Wendy's in the parking lot adjacent to the hotel, too. About 1/2 mile on the right (going away from the airport) there's a Cracker Barrel, too. I used the shuttle to get to the airport when staying there, too, and it was so easy. Just don't be alarmed by the planes going overhead -- air traffic stops about 11:00pm, so it shouldn't keep you up.

Ok, based on what StartedaJoke said, it has built up some. There's a Hooters (WOOHOO, I know right?-sarcasm), Quiznos, Schlotsky's, Cracker Barrel, all kinds of stuff.

Thanks all! I have booked a "family suite". It is actually just 2 connecting rooms and 1 has a fridge and micro, but it is cheaper than 2 separate rooms. DIL's are driving us down and taking us to the airport, so we don't have to worry about the shuttle. We are trying to get in touch w/ DH's friend to have dinner, Cracker Barrel and Texas Steak House would be good for that.

I just wanted a little reasurance about it.

Less than a month to go!!! :cool1:

Thanks again! :sunny:
