I've used Disney gift cards purchased at Target to pay for vacation. Easier when I found I could order online and have them shipped instead of driving half hour to Target store.
Raise is new for me and I like it! I've done it three times this weekend, testing it out. Here's my experience.
On Raise, I've seen the discount change from 6.6% - 6.8% - 5.5%, so watch and buy when discount is higher.
When ordering online, log into your account and it will think you are paying with Target Red Card and the gift card will show at 5% discount. I ended up paying a small amount with Red Card and most with the Target e-gift card from Raise. One time the shopping cart showed sales tax. I emptied the cart and filled it again and then there was no tax.
Want a bigger savings on your Disney vacation? Log into the Target website through ebates. I only remembered to do this once, from now in I'll do it every time. I wasn't sure it would work, because ebates says you won't get anything for buying gift cards, but it must mean store gift card. I received $3.80 (2%) in cash back for the purchase of $200 of Disney gift cards.
So depending on your Raise discount, around 13% savings!
Bonus, I get 1% cash back bonus on all purchases made with my Discover card. Do you have something similar with your credit card?
