Rainy Day, Non-Park Suggestions

Hey, all!

They say that into every life, a little rain must fall. And that's just as true at Disney as anywhere else.

I'm pretty sure that during my next trip, January 5-12, there's gonna be some rain falling. It's just to be expected that time of year. Sometimes, I go to the parks and take advantage of the shorter lines when that happens.

But say you don't wanna go to a park that day. What ELSE might you do?

So far, I've thought of grabbing a monorail and visiting each of the hotels on the loop and maybe going to downtown Disney for a little shopping or a movie.

Any other thoughts?

Some say go to Disney Quest, but we tried that last time it rained and it was super crowded!!!
I love to resort hop, so I would visit those resorts like you said, or spend some quality time in EPCOT at the Innoventions. (But maybe those are super crowded when it rains, also?)
We did the Movie & Dine at AMC, not on a rainy day, and that was enjoyable. Even if it's crowded, the seating is very roomy. It was very relaxing in there.
I've also used rainy days as a sleep in, rest day. And if the rain stops, going to a park in the evening.

I'm planning to do a day of touring each of the two sections of resorts that are linked by boat, stop have a bite to eat at one, check out the buildings. Sort of a "Cruise and Tour" day. Not quite sure how that would work out with rain though.

If you're staying on site you could enjoy the arcade at your local resort or try resort hopping. You still have to get out in the rain for the buses but you'll be inside for the most part.

I know if there is lightning/rain, the boats usually don't run. That happens quite often for the DTD boats to the PO resorts and SSR/OKW. Not sure if the same appies for MK and EPCOT boats.
