Rainforst Spa...

The Spa Villa for two was about the best spa experience that I have ever had. Service was great, and there's something about looking out at the Caribbean while your ship pulls out of port that creates the most relaxing feeling ever.

What is this ?
When I booked my activities online last month at the 90 day mark I never saw this listed ? I went now and still don't see it ? Is this something that can only be booked on the ship ? Is it a concierge service only ? Thanks for any info.

I didn't know embarkation day was a good deal day. Thanks for the tip!

If we do end up on the Fantasy again next year, I'm staying in the Rainforest Room all week. Talk about relaxing! I'm going to curl up on one of those heated loungers with my book and not move until the ship gets back to Port Canaveral. It was that good!!!

This is what I did. I enjoyed the heck out of it.

My only complaint was they let in a non-adult or a really immature 18 year old, because I about flipped my lid. She was young, still had braces on, skimpiest little bikini I'd ever seen. Came in with a friend/family member. She was super loud as I was reading on the lounger. She started splashing and making a mess out of the hot tub. Then as I am laying there, robe not on, bathing suit on (it was me and a skinny elderly lady in the lounger area), she walked in, looked around, and was like "there are a lot of fat people in the spa." I told my friends and co-workers about this and they were like "I would've made my gut look bigger" and "Seriously? I would've suddenly made my body look like Jabba the Hutt." Instead I covered my legs with a towel and put my head in a book. It was 15 minutes of a great cruise though. So...

Kids with no manners are just fabulous; I would have had that one bounced out on her rear end! We went on the first sea day and the spa staff was conducting tours the whole time we were there. Just as we would get settled, here comes another loud staff member trying to sell a day in the spa while disrupting those of us who had already paid for ours. Nothing worse than having people watch you while you are in one of the rain showers. :(

Even with all that it was great and I'll do it again. I'll just spend time there later in the cruise and tell the spa manager to be more respectful of the guests who've already paid.

Oh wow....I agree with everything you said.
The rude teen---I would not have been able to keep my mouth shut. Would have had to say something to her. Unbelievable.

And conducting a mini tours while you are a paying customer and attempting to enjoy some R&R ? Not very relaxing.....borders on rude. Again, I probably would have asked for a complimentary return time when it was more "restful/peaceful" from the spa CM. Unless of course you had an unlimited pass. I still would have mentioned it. :sad2:

since the RF room is not scheduled times - is there an overcrowding issue, like having to wait in line for something?" I wouldn't find that relaxing at all.

I thought about it but didn't really want to make a fuss and ruin the relaxation mode I was in. Considering how great it was even with the disruptions, I can't wait to get back and try it again when it's quiet.

When we were there it was only the 5th sailing of the Fantasy, school was still in and I don't think the ship was even full; which is a long way of saying that there wasn't an overcrowding issue. There were always extra loungers available and the only person in my way for certain rain showers was DH! Maybe someone who was on a full summer sailing can let us know if they experienced something different.

My experience on the Magic was the Rainforest Room was wonderful--- rarely full....and some times we were the only ones. But we always cruise in Sept-Oct-Nov (hurrican season rates can't be beat !).

I guess I am a little concerned if the Fantasy will be the same experience ? While it will be Sept 29-Oct 6, it is a bigger ship. Hopefully they made the Spa areas larger to accomodate more passengers ? Guess I will have to let you all know how my experience goes.

So, on the Magic, do you have the same showers and sauna experience as you do on the other ships?

What do you do? hot showers that gradually get cooler or warmer.. cool showers that get warmer with a sauna?
Hoping my husband wants to go.

I'm wondering if it is suitable to take the embarkation day tour with a 7 year old in tow? The Kids Club won't be open yet and I'm cruising with my 7 year old without my hubby so I have no where to leave him. Anyone have experience with this?

Whenever I've done the tour there were kids. Just keep them under control and I don't think you will have a problem

Thank you for this information. I have avoided the tour due to having my 7 y/o with me. I make sure that he is well-behaved. He may get jealous about the spa! Oh, well, he will have to wait a decade+..... ;)
