Rainforest Safari Club Question

We will be a party of 9 adults and a toddler and are thinking about going to the Rainforest Cafe when we go to Disneyland in the latter part of Sept to early Oct this year. Do you think it's worth it for me to sign up for the Safari Club? We don't have a Rainforest Cafe where I live but I'm going to Vegas later this month and can sign up for membership at the Rainforest Cafe there. I know the Safari membership won't help me with priority seating since we have a large group so I'm planning to do PR instead. Also, I see that the 10% discount you get with the membership is only good for 4 people. I guess I could use the $10 gift cert that they'll send with the membership card but do you think it's worth becoming a member in my case?

I would recommend it. It pays for itself quickly and you never pay a renewal fee. We don't usually use the discount, we get the free appetizer which is worth 8.99 (pita quesadillas are soooo good). The card never expires and you get you money back after the first two visits.

One of the nicest benefits is that at Diseny even when there you didn't make a reservation, your safari card jumps you in line which has helped us many times.

I live in San Diego so we do usually use our card when we go to Disnyland, WDW, and Vegas. Also, on your birthday they send a $5 coupon and I have received them via email for other occasions. I don't get to use them all, but I have more than made my money back.

We love the food there and the environment. You won't regret getting the card....

The priority seating is only available for parties of 6 or less. We had 8 on our last trip and couldn't use priority seating.

Yes, definitely make a priority seating, since as others have stated, that perk of not needing one for Safari Club members is only good for parties of six or less. However, you do get the discount for your party of nine, at least we did when we were a party of seven at the one in WDW last year. Even if they do just give it for four of you, that would still be a good thing. And with the voucher and the fact you can save in the gift shop that helps too. So I would definitely get the card, that thing has saved us a bundle through the years and a lot of time as well!

Is there any way to sign up without going to a restaurant in person? We don't live very near an RFC. Do you have to dine there first to sign up?

I just double checked on the website. You have to do it in person. You can use the discount on that day or get the free appetizer, but I believe that you have to wait to get the $10 certificate in the mail.

We signed up when we ordered our meal, the server asked and told us the bennie's and then we were given the discount on the bill. Make ressie's though, I hate waiting when I want to eat.

We love Rainforest and try to always call ahead for a reservation. If not, we'll walk right up to the Blue Elephant and present our card. Typically, we are seated pretty quickly. We like to sit upstairs by the fish tank. The tank is good for the kids to watch, it isn't near the server in/out doors and you can see pretty well when it is rain time.

From what I understand, it costs $15 for the membership but you will recieve a $10 gift certificate along with your membership card in the mail. You can use the $10 gift certificate on your next trip to the Rainforest Cafe. You need to sign up in person at any Rainforest Cafe location and will be given a temporary card that you can start using immediately.

Anyone know if the $10 certificate expires? Also, how long does it take to get it? I just want to time it right for our next DL trip because we LOVE the breakfast there!
