Just got back from 9 awesome nights at Disney. RFC is one of my favs and I'll always go back, but we had 3 things happen there that I really thought was lame.

1.We had ressies one day at Animal Kingdom. I had misplaced my Safari Club Card. Not a huge deal. It saves you 10% or gets you a free appetizer. I asked if they could just use my licesne and they said no. They have no way of looking up my name. Huh?:confused3

2.I called the Safari Club to request a new card. They were going to charge me $5.50 for a replacement. OK, I get it's their policy, but honestly, if they looked at my membership, they'd see that it really wasn't necessary. No exagerration, we eat at RFC I'd say 50+ times a year. We take the kids to the one near our home every Saturday and always go to the ones at Disney when we're there.

3.Their seating system is a joke. As it turned out, I found my card before we left. Our last night, we decided to go to the one at DTD. We get there, give them the card (which gets you priority seating), and they give us the paper telling us to go ahead into the line. They then line everyone up they've called for their table into 2 seperate lines and you wait there until a table is cleared and they get to your party. So, instead of just waiting outside and being able to sit down, you stand in line. So, my wife and I are standing there with our twin infants for about 20 minutes. We just gave up at that point.

I still love RFC, and think that the food and service is always good. They really need to figure out some better seating procedures though.

I'd never eat at the Rainforest Cafe at Downtown Disney because it's always busy and they don't have priority seating. But even the one at Animal Kingdom isn't that great. It's still a zoo (no pun intended) to get seated. If this was a Disney restaurant, it would be a huge black mark.

Well, they do (technically) with the Safari Card. Plus, they take reservations. But it does no good. Even after you're called, like I said, they just stick you in a line behind 10 other groups waiting for open tables.

I never found a really long wait for RFC at DTD. It's actually fun for us to stand in line b/c we like looking at the fish in the tanks. The only problem I have is that the seating it on top of one another and DH and I are rather Pooh sized so this sometimes causes a problem for us.

We enjoy RFC as well, but the DTD location is always a pain. Something changes almost everytime we go there. We've been told, after waiting in line to get to the elephant, that we didn't have to wait in line next time, just come straight up to the elephant. Next trip, we go straight to the elephant, and they tell us we have to wait in line anyway. We've had 'immediate seating' defined as any time less than 30 minutes, rather than 'get right in line'. And that 'second line-up' is just plain weird.

We still like RFC, contrary to many on these boards, but when given the option, we have found things to be less hectic overall at the AK location.

that stinks about you safari club card....I've always been seated in like 10 minutes...then again i go in january
