Can you make Priority Seating Requests at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney? If my memory serves me right , the answer is no. It's first come first served.

I believe you need to be a Rainforest Club member to reserve.

There was a long thread o this not too long ago.

herc.

Are you sure? I recall being able to make reservations without being a member. What you get through the membership is the confirmation of being seated. That worked out fantastic for us theis past Valentine's day, I called thirty minutes and was able to get seated although reservations were closed for the rest of the day.

Never been but hoping to go next trip. Is it truly worth it? What the atmosphere like?

The inside atmoshphere is really enjoyable and unique. I personally like the one at Animal Kingdom better than at Downtown Disney. Beware though, it has been my experience the last three times I have visited, that they will not go out of their way to accomodate children's food preferences. My son doesn't drink soda but they wouldn't substitute it on the children's menu so I had to pay an additional $2.00 for an apple juice. Also french fries are not included so that's another .99. That means for a grilled cheese sandwhich, fries, and an apple juice I paid close to $9.00. The next time I visited I asked them if they could make a plain cheese quisiadillas for him and they said yes but they would have to charge the full adult menu price, once again close to $9.00. The atmoshpere is great, the food quality is good, and service is o.k. Keep that in mind and you'll have a good time. Also, if it's not busy, don't let them stick you at a bad table ask for one near the waterfalls.

Unless they have changed it since we there (Dec. '01), you can call the restaurant directly and make reservations. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time, waited about 5 minutes while they got a table ready, and then were seated. Unfortunately, we were stuck in the corner where we couldn't really see anything, and since it was our first time there, I wanted to be able to see! I asked the hostess if we could have a different table, and she got a little flustered and said we would have to wait about 20 minutes. I said that was fine, and sure enough 20 minutes later we were seated in a great location. Our waitress was wonderful, our food was very good, and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Of course the fact that I had $75 worth of GCs helped me enjoy it all the more;)

We made PS's for Rainforest through the Disney PS phone number several times, and we aren't members.

You can make ressies. And it pays to be a member! You pay $15 a year but right when you sign on you can get 10% off your meal or a free appetizer. Then you get a $10 certificate in the mail a few weeks later and $5 more on your birthday, so you get it right back within a year.

Plus, each time you go eat you still get either 10% off your meal or a free appetizer. My son always goes for the last one of course.

And best of all, whenever you call you have a table guaranteed, no matter how busy they are. And you go in right through showing your card.

The food is expensive but they serve L O T S! I'd say the regular price is over $10 on most items.

Tree - are you sure it's $15 per year to be a Safari Club member? I thought it was a one-time fee, and your membership remained active as long as you used it at least once a year.

Nancy, the offer they gave us was paying $15. Maybe it is a one-time fee, but I thought it was a year.

You get your money right back on certificates within the year, however. We have one in CT but it is convenient to get the membership even if you don't have a local RFC and plan to use Disney's.

The only thing I advise is that if you plan to use your $5 and $10 certificates there, that you apply closer to your vacation. The $10 certificate expired within five months of getting it. And they don't have to know your real birthdate, do they ;)
