Worth going to or not? Can one make reservations? I have never been to one, so I have no idea... they just look cool to me:)

Also, I noticed on this site (I think) that if you join their "club" you can get a discount. However, on their site... I can not figure out how to join. Any ideas? I really do hate their site, as it has sooooo much "stuff" and I have dial up (we live in a super rual area... can you believe there are places that do not have high speed internet!!?!")

Thanks;)

Rain forest Cafe priority seating # 714-772-0413. You can make res. up to 1 year in advance. We made ours about 1 month out for 3/9. I've never been to this one, but to others, and we thought that the 6yr old and 15 mo old might enjoy it the night before DL.:goodvibes Nice atmosphere. I thought the food was good also.

Good idea to make reservations. A little pricey and the meals are ok. We have one near the area that I live so we didn't visit the down town disney one. I would think that it is worth just going there once but wouldn't be a place that I would visit more then that. It is pretty cool how they have different effects of the animals making sounds and we sat near a waterfall in the rainforest cafe in our area so it was a nice setting. My two kids thought it was great plus it was loud enough that I didnt have to worry about them fooling around and being loud

We absolyely love DTD Rainforest Cafe even if we have one locally. If you have young kids, it may scare them as it does get dark and loud. I know you can sign up for their club in their restaurants but I don't think you get the $10 off discount immediately. I think they have to send you the coupon. I don't think you can sign up online. You'll need to call their # on their website: 1-800-552-6379 ext 5235. You also get $5 coupons on the anniversary of your membership and your birthday.

Oh and definitely make a reservation. During busy times like weekends, and 8pm park closing times, the wait can be long.

If you try to walk up on Fri or Sat night the wait can be over 2 hours. That happened to us on a not-crowded Sat night in January. So please make reservations!

(Can't escape without the drink cups that flash).

We love the RFC! We never make reservations though. Usually we go for an early dinner late lunch and only have maybe a 5-10 minute wait. Just depends on when you plan to go.

I love those cups that flash too, gotta get me some more next time. LOL

We have been to the RFC several times. I would say the atmosphere is worth checking out at least once. The food is pretty good but definetly not inexpensive. I would also recommend that you make reservations. If your kids like animals, they have a little bird show out front that runs on every hour throughout the day unless they have changed it. Oooh And I do have to recommend their Sparkling Volcano for dessert! It was something like $12.99 but we split it 4 ways which was plenty for all.

It's OK the kids love it. I think it's overpriced personally. It's like Jungle cruise with food.

I did get the card. When I bought the card they told me I would have no problems get a seat and that I did not have to make ressies. I have been several time sometimes I had ressie and sometimes not. Excellent place

We love RFC. We go often. I joined the Safari club. Each time we get there it is 10% of the entire bill OR one free appetizer. We get the appetizer and we can order a bit less for food. The food is good and the portions are not bad either. We ususlly don't make reservations BUT the Safari card help like a front of the line pass! :cool1:

I like RFC for dining with toddlers, but the food takes FOREVER once you've ordered. I've experienced this at the RFCs at Ontario Mills, South Coast Plaza and DTD, regardless of how busy the restaurant is.

My favorite dish is the Lava Nachos appetizer. It's more than I can eat for a meal, and so yummy!

We went there twice on our last trip on the way back to the hotel from DL. We walked right in and ate in the bar area both times. Their hot wings are delicious!! I don't normally even like wings, but there's were great.

From what I remember from their site, you have to join at a restaurant.

You can join at the restaurant, then take your temporary membership card up to the greeters and get priority seating right then. On that first visit I know you can use the % off or the free appetizer (with order of entree), but later they will send you a $10 coupon that you can save for later.

We like them. First time we went (to our local RFC) our son was completely freaked out by it. I think he was too hungry, a bit tired, and just overwhelmed. We had to take our food to go and eat in the play area of the mall. But when we went to the one in Anaheim it was set up just differently enough that he was OK with it. He really likes their kids cheese pizza (it's good!), and we thoroughly enjoyed their nachos appetizer (but without the meat). Huge plate of nachos that the two of us couldn't finish, while DS demolished his pizza.

We like the restaurant, and especially since we have a local RFC have found the membership to have good value.

My daughter (age 7 on our last trip) really likes it - they have a neat jungle atmosphere inside, complete with animals that come alive, and a thunderstorm (don't worry, it doesn't rain on you!). Unfortunately, on our last trip we had a long day in the parks, followed by a long wait for a table, and my daughter promptly fell asleep once we finally got our table so she didn't get to enjoy it. In hindsight, we would have been much better off going somewhere else that night. Their food is decent, but it's not cheap. Portions are pretty big so you could probably get away with sharing a meal.

Probably the only downside is waiting for a table. They always seem to have a long wait with a double-check-in system and it's kindof confusing. You check in outside and are given a ticket. Then you wait "x" amount of time before you can approach the inside podium and give them your ticket. Then you wait some more before they finally page you to go to the seating podium (between the retail store and restaurant).

Thanks for the info... I tried the number, and found out one can only sign up IN a RC. We are MILES from a RC (heck, we are an hour from the nearest burger king for that matter!) so I guess we will sign up there for the % discount.

Thanks again:)

We love it there.........funny we have only been to the Vegas one once.........It is our tradtional first night dinner! Mommy gets a coctail , and we share the volcano for desert. We always buy a plate or two to take home and eat on them quite often, they are inexpensive souvineers!
