We are going on DD's birthday trip next weekend, and she picked Rainforest Cafe for her birthday dinner. (Wouldn't be my choice, but it's not my birthday! :thumbsup2)

I know the atmosphere is fun for the kids, but is there anything decent on the menu for adults? I looked at the menu, and it all *sounds* good, but I hate to pay $25 for a so-so entree.

Any good experiences at RFC??

Thanks!

My favorite was the blue mountain chicken sandwich, it was juicy an yummy! The spinach dip was very good as well. My Dh said his ribs were o.k..

I love, love, love the Barbeque Bamba Wrap with beef. The mango dipping sauce it to die for. I miss their original salad; now they just serve it with cole slaw. I found a copy cat recipe of the salad, but it just isn't the same as theirs....

I also love the chicken fried chicken; the country gravy is very good.

My third favorite is the Rasta Pasta. Lots of nice fresh ingredients and the sauce is very good.

I personally love the coconut shrimp with pina colada sauce:thumbsup2They used to have a pasta dish called something like Rasta Pasta, which was very tasty. Kids love their flatbreads and DH loves the ribs. Get on the rainforest website to look over their full menu. Be advised the portion sizes are HUGE, so you'll have plenty to take home. BTW, we noticed last year they began putting real sparklers back in their Volcano desserts...they had paper ones for many years.

I'm not a big meat eater, but my niece talked me into sharing the ribs with her. They were surprisingly good. I actually really enjoyed them. I usually order the Rasta Pasta, which I also enjoy. The ribs may have been even better though.

They have an amazing sampler platter for appetizers that I love to get just for a meal. It has a little bit of everything that you can actually get full on.

DH and I would never admit this to friends or family, but we always hit the Rainforest Cafe bar for lunch at the AK. Yes, its a chain, but we split the Lava Nachos and have more than enough for lunc. We also love the quesadillas made the pita bread instead of tortillas. The Lava Nachos split between the 2 of us are more than we can eat and we have several fun adult beverages while we do it (we're not large people though, I'm 5'6 about 115 and DH is about 6'2 and 180) but if we ARE super hungry we get those 2 apps, still can't finish them but are SO satisfied. Its not "foodie" food, but still, pretty yummy:)

I can't help it, I'm a sucker for delicious nachos every time!

A lot of the entrees are too big for me to eat and my family doesn't like to share at RFC because we all like different things. So I go with my favorite appetizer the chicken pita quesadillas for an entree. They are really good!

i make a meal out of the quesadillas and a small salad - if there's tomato soup available, i'll get that, too - very good!

Thanks everyone for the replies! I feel much better about going there now. DD is super excited, so that's all that matters...but a yummy meal would be good, too!

Thanks again :)

The turkey wrap is the bomb. :thumbsup2I get it every single time. I get ranch on the side, not whatever dressing it comes w/. J/B they have awesome ranch,it's pretty mild, not too oniony.Love it. :thumbsup2 I remember enjoying the buffalo chicken salad as well.

I believe the buffalo chicken salad is loooong gone. Used to be my favorite.

The Rasta Pasta is very good. You have the option to add a salad or soup and I remember we added a salad, but they were very large. In addition to the dinner it was very filling. Just something to keep in mind so you can keep the cost down. Enjoy! :cool2:

VOLLLLLLLCANNNNOOOOOOO!!!! Of course :)
Besides that, I really love the mushroom ravioli. It is my favorite. My husbands is the pot roast and my son loves the shrimp. I think he gets the big combo that has steak and shrimp in it. I personally did not care for their steaks at all.

Hi
The coconut shrimp are really good, and we also love the quesadilla appetizer, on like a pita bread. We get it without the chicken.

Macadamia Crusted Mahi! I've gotten it twice and its nice! Last time I tried something less expensive, but I honestly don't remember what it was...probably a chicken sandwich! We had a party of 11 and we were ALL pleased with our meals! :thumbsup2
