I recently signed up for this on a trip to Nashville and received my card and $10 new member certificate in the mail today. The certificate says it expires 2/6/2009. The problem is that we don't have a RFC at home and I was hoping to using for our early May trip. Does anyone have any experience with this issue? Will the restaurant take expired certificates? Or should I call and hope they will send me a new one?

Also, does anyone know what the free Chef's appetizer usually is or do they just let you pick one?

Thanks! :)

Do you have a Joe's Crabshack near you? I was always able to use my card/coupons at Joe's here at home. You might be able to use them at any of the Landry restaurants

Actually, Joe's Crab Shack is no longer owned by Landry's.

Anyone else care to help? Thanks!!! :)

I'm not sure about that, but it couldn't hurt to call and try.

Make sure you sign up for email news and updates. I get coupons for $10 off a check of $25 or more quite freqently. They also send something around your birthday. So maybe you'll luck out and get one that falls into your trip timeframe.

I love having this, mostly because of the easy seating. I've never waited more than 10 minutes (but never been at peak summer or holiday times either...so it may be longer during those times).

ETA: We were able to choose our own appetizer. We just asked if we could have the fried cheese for the freebie and our server said "Sure!". Maybe it was a better bargain for them :)

We have been able to pick the appitizer also. Though I think they limit the discount to $8. The appitizer is a better deal than the discount. Though if you don't want that much food then the discount is good too.

We have also used an expired certificate, though not the intial one they send. And it wasn't 3-4 months old, it was expired a week or so and they accepted it. Your experience may be different. They will send you plenty of coupons though if you provide your e-mail address.

Be Cautious with your card at Disney, we have been a safari club member for quite along time, and we were told that short of the appetizer and or discount, the priority seating that the card gets you in places like Nashville just don't work at Disney due to the fact that you can make dining arrangement through Disney at the Rain forests.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I was wondering how long it took you to get the card and coupon? We signed up at the RFC at Disneyland a couple of weeks ago. Thanks!

Perhaps we have just always been lucky since we have always been able to get priority seating at the Disney RFCs (both of them) with our Safari Card. We will be trying again in just a couple of weeks. :)

Us too, but we have never needed it at AK, just Downtown Disney. One time the wait was nearly 2 hours and we had some aquaintences (not even very friendly :rotfl: ) waiting. We walked right up and were seated within minutes. We were done eating before they even got seated. :thumbsup2 It was great. Never have needed it otherwise, that I remember.

We also got priority seating with our card in AK. We waited less than 5 min. while the wait was 30-40 min.
