Rainforest cafe Safari Club?

We joined during Christmas week. It was easy and worked out good for us. Teri and I set down and ordered the crab dip, then I ordered the stuffed shrimp and Teri ordered a fish dish. We had a few drinks and joined the club then. When we got our check the waiter said he deducted the price of the crab dip because it was free with our membership. GREAT! We ate 3 other times during the week and each time we received a free app or our 10% discount. We joined because it works at our local Landry's also.

we joined last year while waiting in a long line, got immediate priority seating. no need for future ADRs at this local, so they say. plus 10% off or a free appetizer i believe. no waiting in line proceed to the purple elephant and they seat you next available, is what the hostess told us. when we joined we were facing an hour wait and they took us right in after we filled out the application:banana:

That's what happened a couple years ago. We headed over so we could give them our name and it was going to be nearly a 2 hour wait. I walked to the desk and filled out the application and got my temporary card and walked back to the elephant less than 5 minutes later. The guy (same one that said 2 hour wait) just grinned and said it'd be a few minutes. It was under 10 minutes til we were called. It was a little backed up where families they called were waiting to actually be seated, so I imagine that was our hold-up.

Just to let you all know of a few more tips:

1) Safari membership must be used at least 1x per year, or it expires. You may use it at restaurant or store, and must present your card as they count your visits. If you forget card and manager approves a discount, you can fax your receipt to corporate office, and they'll count that visit.

2) Discounts never expire! They always send a discount card for applicant's birthday (email or snail mail) and you can use them at any time. By law, RFC must put expiry dates on promos. When we were there last month, someone presented their birthday discount card from 3 years prior, and they took it as that is their corporate policy.

3) Discounts cannot be stacked except you may use your birthday coupons or new membership cards ($5.00 or $10.00) with your 10% discount. You may use your 10% discount for a limited number of guests OR get a free appetizer - you must choose which promo to take advantage of.

I would suggest people check out the RFC website, or, next time you are there, take a brochure home as all policies and rules are listed and it's great for point of reference.

Happy eating, Tiger :)

This isn't a very rigid rule. I went over a year once without going to the Rainforest (like I mentioned earlier - none near us, so Disney is our only RFC experience. .. and with free dining and paying for dining plan, we never made it a few trips) and when I finally got around to going back, my card was still good.

I've also read before that if you call the customer service number near your 1 year for expiration, they'll extend it for you. I've read they're good about that - especially for those of us without a restaurant near us. We don't even have a Landry's, and I can think of one Joe's Crab Shack an hour away (and I am SO not a seafood fan, LOL) It's been awhile since I read that, so who knows about now. But something to try if someone thinks they're about ready to lapse.

That is good info thanks, we also have no RFC close by so WDW is our only option.
