I am asking this for a friend who does not use Disboards. I will supply her the link so she can some out and read for herself.

How do you rate, on a scale of 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest, the food quality at Rainforest Cafe?

Any other thoughts you want to leave for her, please do. Thanks. :)

And miss girlie - I am going to post mine here for you, although you already know.... :P

On that scale, I give it a 2. The food is mediocre at best yet priced very high for what you get. You are mostly paying for the atmosphere.

The food itself I'd give a 5. It's fine. Nothing special, but it's decent enough. It's on par with other standard American chain restaurants. Adjusted for price, though, it would be closer to a 2.5. It's massively overpriced. I'd also knock off a half a point for atmosphere - it's so unbelievably loud. So loud that my husband and I could barely hear each other from across the table.

So I'd give it a 2 overall. The only reason we went is that my daughter very specifically asked to go. She enjoyed it (the fact that she wasn't paying the check helped tremendously,) but she never mentions it when she talks about WDW restaurants.

I would only recommend it if you have a kiddo that really wants to go there.

One does not go there for the food. I would give it a 4 at best if you order something that's not too complicated. You can bet that most of it comes into the building prepackaged/frozen and then cooked or even reheated. It's the only way to have consistency between locations across the country.

I like the Safari Soup for sure. I'll go there for lunch sometimes just for that. However, like others have previously stated. The food is not great, and is very hit and miss to begin with. It's the atmosphere you are going for.

It's like most other chain restaurant's food items. Nothing is going to be fresh and it is all the same to me. Fridays, Chilis, Applebees. All have the same menu items just called something different.

I'd give it a 4/5. We do not have a Rainforest Cafe around here, so to us it's a "Disney" restaurant. And it really does go well with the Animal Kingdom theme ... my kids love it.

The food is similar to what you would find at other chain restaurants. However, they have a large menu so there's lots of choices and also, they give generous portions.

We always have fun there.

im not a picky eater, and every meal i have gotten there has been AMAZING! they have a dish called rasta pasta my mother and i just love. the volcano dessert is awesome as well. id have to give an 8 or 9 because ive never had an issue that couldnt be fixed and the issues i wouldnt blame them for because everyone is human and everyone makes mistakes at some point.

The question had nothing to do with people being perfect and making mistakes. :rotfl2:

The focus was not even on wait staff. It is about food quality and being worth the cost.

I do like their China Island Chicken Salad, and my kids like the pizza. But I'm with the others, it is quite overpriced for what you get, and very loud.

I will add that I often take groups there for a pre-arranged breakfast buffet. The eggs, etc. are pretty standard offerings (although the fruit is better than average). But the highlight of the buffet is the tonga toast, a delicious french toast-type casserole. I just had it again last Tuesday -- yum!

I've never had a bad meal there. That being said, I've never had great meal there either.

I would rank it a 4.

The only reason we go there is because the kids love it. If it were just me and my wife eating alone, we'd never go.

Middle of the road...a 5. Neither great, nor bad.

Not going to factor cost into it....it's Disney World. It's ALL overpriced.

I'd give it a 4, with a bump to a 5 for theme just to be nice. Given that, I've been once and that is enough.
