Rainforest Cafe locations in WDW vs locations where you are from

For those who have been to either Rainforest Cafe in WDW and also been to one in the city where they are from, do you feel like it's a different experience?

The only reason my family and I went to the Rainforest in Toronto is because we were in the area where it was located so we thought let's go there for a change. While the food is still the same, expect for the menu being a bit different then the locations at WDW, it's a much different atmosphere. The best example I can give is the store. The one at Downtown Disney always has a great vibe to it, where as the one in Toronto was a lot smaller and felt more quiet. So if we had the option we would pick going back to the Rainforest at DTD. Now this was unexpected but because they messed up my parents orders they gave us a free volcano for dessert to make up for that. So that turned what could have been a negative experience into a very positive one.

We have 3 Rainforest Cafe's in my immediate area (Chicagoland), but we only visit the one in AK. I was at one of the ones around here way back when it first opened. Then, it seemed like such a different dining experience overall because of the extreme theming. Plus, it was in a mall, which really made it seem odd.

I don't think the food is anything special, and is even less than mediocre (especially since they have done away with the bananas foster dessert). Up until we discovered Tusker House, we would have lunch at Rainforest while at AK because of the lack of good TS in the park. But, I doubt we will be going Rainforest much anymore. Although, they do have festive specialty drinks...
