Rainforest Cafe-DTD vs. AK

My mother in law just suggested Rainforest for a dinner for the 6 of us in early January. The Rainforest at AK takes reservations but is not open later. the Rainforest in DTD does not take reservations.

My questions:
Are the 2 restaurants the same? Is the menu and atmosphere the same and does anyone have any opinions on one vs. the other????

you can go online and see the menu and they look like the whole chain is the same.we ate lunch( same menu as dinner) & brkfst in RFC ak and enjoyed both meals. sorry only one i have been to. if you join the safari club( see the website for details) you get basically what amounts to an adr at any RFC, next available table, if that helps( and 10% off which would add up with 6 diners)

All Rainforest Cafes are pretty much the same. They may have minor layout differences, but the decor and food is the same. Trust me, I love them and I've been to about 6 of them in different cities - very cool!

Yes both restaurants are the same menu, same atmosphere. However, if you really want the Rainforest Cafe at DTD, try calling them directly to make a reservation. That's what I had to do to get reservations for when I went there in July 04. Worked for us then, but they may have changed by now.

We love RFC! We belong to the Safari Club. If you go to the website www.rainforestcafe.com and click on Ozzie the monkey, you will see how to join. They offer front of the line seating for parties up to 6 when you present your card at the podium. The card also entitles you to save on food and merchandise at the restaurant and at other Landry owned restaurants, like Joe's Crab Shack.

You can make reservations at the DTD location if you call 3 days in advance. The number is (407)827-8500. Good luck. Maggie
