Rainforest Cafe and Kona Cafe questions

We are trying to plan our meals for our trip to disney and I have two questions.

1. Can you eat a quick dinner at the Kona Cafe in the Polynesian, or do they just serve coffee and a few side items? We are looking for a quick alternative to eating counter service at the MK.

2. How is the Rainforest Cafe at Downtown Disney for dinner?

Thanks for your help.

I've never eaten at the Rainforest Cafe, so I can't help you there. Kona Cafe is a full service sit down restaurant. It's not counter service and would be usually around an hour for a meal. The food is some of the best WDW has to offer!!! Here is a link to the dinner menu at Kona.

The Rainforest Cafe is one of our favorite restaurants. Definitely check it out and be sure to try the quesadillas :teeth:

We always go to the RFC at DD every trip! The burgers are great! If you have any little ones, they will love it! ;)

MM - We love the Rainforest also. The ribs are great, they have a good selection of salads & seafood, and our kids (DD 8, DS 6) like all the stuff going on. The wait can be a bit much, but with the goings on at DD, the time does go fast as you walk around. (We hit the Lego store and actually wanted a bit more time when our seating time came around!)

If you join the RFC Club you don't have to wait! This was a big plus for us last year! Not to mention that they send you coupons twice a year! (I have 2 now that will expire before I get to go again... ) You may want to check into it! ;)

Disneyfan - how do you join the RFC Club? I visited their website and couldn't find any information.

This is the info that I have on the anniversary $5 certificate that they just sent me...

www.rainforestcafe.com OR Rainforest Cafe Safari Club 1510 W. Loop South Houston TX 77027.

For some unknown reason, you do have to apply by mail. But, I would think they should have some info about it on their website!

Good luck! HTH...

Thanks for all of your responses. We are looking forward to trying out the Kona Cafe and also the Rainforest Cafe---especially from your positive responses! I will assume that you can NOT make priority seating for the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. What is a good time to go there with a minimum wait? We are planning to go on a day that we will not be visiting the parks, so we should be pretty flexible as to when we can be there to eat.
