Rainforest at DD or AK

Is there any difference between the RFC at DD and AK?

Also, does the DD location take reservations?

They both take ADRs through the Disney Dining line, as if they were Disney restaurants (which is very convenient).

I have seen a big difference between the two locations. DD is always terribly crowded, but has lousy servicice and mediocre food.

AK is seldom crowded, and has much better quality food and perfect service.

My vote is for the AK location for a much better meal and experience.

Funny, the CM told me that they only took ADR's for AK.

We have always wanted to try DD, but haven't because of the reviews that it gets on the DIS. Seems things haven't changed.

We have eaten at AK before and liked it. I will probably just stick with it there.

I believe that DTD does not do ADR's, but if you want to schedule a reservation, you can call them up to 7 days in advance, if I am remembering this correctly. (407) 827-8500

We don't worry about reservations there because a long time ago, we joined the Safari Club. Check out the Rainforest Cafe and click on Ozzie for all the details. We found that the membership has paid for itself many times over through the years. I think it was $15 and we saved that much in just one trip. The best part is that we never wait more than a few minutes for a table regardless of how many people are in line being told the wait is 2 or 3 hours. I love that card! Plus it saves us locally at Joe's Crab Shack.

I am not sure if you know this, but the AK location serves a really good breakfast too. Happy planning! Maggie

I would say go to the AK one because of all of the above reasons. That being said however, it is always a tradition with my family that we eat our very first meat at the DD one because it is so busy and it seems more exciting to my boys. Thanks mickeysaver for the tip.
