Rain, Surprise Birthdays, Rain, First Visits -(Ginny is deceased-Prayers for her.)

Love those pics, Ginny! What a wonderful time you had. Still giggling over the "three amigos". Heh heh!

Hey Ginny. Sorry I haven't been by in a while :guilty:. I love the new pictures, I swear I envy brave people. I am such a big ole baby about heights, my knees got weak just looking at that rock wall :scared1:. I hope my whole family will take vacations together. It looks like ya'll have so much fun.

I am sorry to hear about Don's dad. I will keep him in my prayers. I am praying for all of us to have some stress relief. When I read what you wrote about your Dad it gave me chills, it is such a testimony to your Dad's life that he knew Jesus was waiting on him at the door.

I have missed talking to you and to everybody else too!!!

Thanks for being here. I miss you too. It seems we have more fun together the older we get. So weird but so wonderful.

My Dad was a cool guy and that is how he lived his life. He was a gideon and loved nothing more than passing out bibles at the local colleges to the young. He was always ready to answer that door but it was so awesome that he did and HE was on the other side. Wish I would have been there to see it.

I'll get more cruise pics up later today.

They were funny weren't they? Joel was over for dinner the other night and we talked about him riding the donkey. He says he doesn't even remember doing it. Too much fun in the sun I guess. He had to look at the pictures again.

Have a great day.

Ginny,

My prayers are with your father in law and the entire family. It's a sad thing to watch a loved one go through something so horrible. My grandmother had Alzheimers and got to the point where she knew none of us. I stopped going to visit her because it only frustrated her more when she had visitors. You could tell that she knew she was supposed to know you but didn't. And, then, she'd get really upset. Just not worth it to upset her so.

I love the recent pictures. One day, we'll go somewhere other than Disney World but we're just not there yet. In the meantime, we'll continue to go on long weekend road trips to explore nature.

I know exactly what you mean Lisa. When our children were younger we did things entirely different than we do now. It is nice to be able to offer other things to them. I promise if we had lived closer to Disney we would have been there everyother year. But it meant a two week vacay because we would drive everywhere and Don only had time off Feb-March. We always had to take spring break for that week. Once he got higher on senority it improved our trips tremendously. He happens to be the oldest employee where he works now. Not highest on senority but oldest. He is # 17 out of 380 employees. They let off 17a week so at least he gets top choices of vacay.

I called Connie this morning and wished her a Happy Birthday.

I do get to leave early but the phones have to stay on till 5 cause the Doc is on call this weekend. Christine is staying and taking care of it. I'm leaving around 1:30. We have to drive to Rolla (2 1/2 hours) to the football game tonight. Give Mitchell a kiss from Aunt G. I sent you a pm back.

thank you again for my sweet surprise yesterday!

You are up and at em early. I would say cement pond but it is like 72 and cloudy here today so unless it is a lot warmer I would say jacket and playground.;)

I am taking a jacket to the FB game tonite. It is supposed to be in the low 50's at night this next week. Fall is certainly in the air. Fine by me. That is my fav time of year. I wish it would last 4 months.

Give my sweet one a hug and kiss. Talking to you and hearing that sweet voice of his made my day. And by the end of the day I thought of that often. We have had one crummy week. And it's not a full moon.

Everyone have a great weekend. I have no plans. Except for maybe a haircut if I can get in. BTW. Booty Shop lady called and her party for this Sat was called off and she got Austin in on Saturday. :woohoo: So now I'm gonna give a try for myself.

Ginny

I am WICKED (forgive the ridiculous Massachusetts/New England slang) late to this party. :lmao:
You guys are awesome! I love reading your chit-chat. The cruise photos were really cool, too!!! That Three Amigos one cracks me up. :rotfl:

Thanks for joining in April. I do believe Lisa was right wasn't she. We have way more fun here than on that 'other' board. :rotfl:

One nice thing. We don't need to pay for counseling. We all get it for free and we give way better advice.:rotfl2:

Have a great day.

Hi all! I'm back from my short vacation in North Carolina. It was fun. But I am glad to be back! Here is a short recap of our vacation!

We left for NC Monday morning around 9:30am. We were suppose to leave at 8am, but we were following my mother and she is ALWAYS late! So off we went on a 7 hr drive. :scared1: I hate driving! DH and I just took turns. We stopped about 3 times for gas/potty/stretching. We packed sandwhiches so we didn't have to spend money at rest stops & such. The drive wasn't too bad. We didn't hit any traffic or rain. Oh, we took I95 all the way down. Forgot to mention that.

We finally made it to NC!! However, we still had about 2 hrs before we reached my cousin's house!

Once we arrived at my cousin's house it was about 5:30. We were all ready for dinner! One of our favorite places to eat in NC in the Carolina Ale House. Great food. We don't have any around Jersey though :sad1: So off we went for dinner. However when we got there it was so crowded. They had some sort of private party going on. The wait was to be around 45 mins or longer! We decided to go somewhere else & come back another night. My cousin decided to take us to a place called, Mimi's Cafe. It was ok. Kind of a New Orleans kind of atmosphere. Well, my family: mom, stepdad, and two brothers are very pickey eaters. I am myself at times! Suffice to say they didn't really enjoy this place. It was ok, but I would never go back again. Anyway. After dinner we went back to the house & rested. We all took turns playing Wii. I have never played before, but it was a lot of fun!

Tuesday was to be a do anything kind of day. We decided to check out the local mall! The guys really enjoyed that one! :lmao: We had lunch at the food court. The guys all wanted to go to the pool, so after the mall that is what we did. It was a very hot day anyway. DH and my two brothers had a lot of fun in the pool. They were playing basketball!

My two brothers, Michael and Kevin.

DH and my two brothers. DH wouldn't look! He's kind of a bigger guy, so he always wears his shirt in the pool! :confused3

This is my mom and my new little cousin, Madison. My mom would kill me if she knew I was putting this pic here!

Another of my little cousin, Madison. She just woke up from a nap!

Since we were at the pool all afternoon, we decided to just order pizza for dinner! Nothing fancy!

On Wednesday we had plans to go to the Outlet Stores! Yet another trip the boys are just loving! :lmao: My cousin found a lot of great deals for her two daughters. Lots of clothes and shoes! They did have a Motherhood Maternity store, but no great deals. Same prices as everywhere else. But I did get a pair of jeans & a long sleeve shirt for $48! I forgot they have tax on clothes in NC! We don't in Jersey. My mom got my one brother a lot of things in the NIKE store. He is still in high school and needed some new clothes. My other brother got some shirts for himself at the Pac Sun store. Other than that, no one else found anything. For dinner we went back to the Carolina Ale House! It was great as usual!!! This was our last night here, so we all just wanted to go back to the house & relax. The boys all decided to go fishing for a few hours at the nearby lake. So it was just us girls back at the house.

Here is another pic of my new little cousin, Madison. She is 8 months old!

This is their new kitten, Jasmin! This cat is crazy! Very entertaining!

Thursday we wanted to leave for home by at least 9am! Yeah right! We didn't get on the highway till 11am!!! The drive started out fine. Got out of NC, through VA....passed this sign for I believe an amusement park

P8280979.jpg

Then we hit some traffic through Washington D.C. However, it only got worse approaching and through Baltimore. Here is what it looked like

P8280985.jpg

Driving through Baltimore I took a pic of the Baltimore Ravens stadium. It's hard to see, but it's there!
P8280988.jpg

So due to the traffic it took us a little longer to get home. We finally arrived home at about 7pm. Not too bad though despite the traffic! Well, that is about it for my vacation. Not much, but at least we got away for a little while!

Sorry Ginny for kind of hijacking your TR by posting my short TR within yours! Hope you don't mind! Hope everyone has a great weekend! It's suppose to rain here almost all weekend :sad2: It is actually downpouring here now. But the temperature is a nice cool 73!!!!

Welcome aboard!

Hey, Dee! Loved your mini report! You should know of all people, Ginny doesn't mind you posting your stuff here!

Your little baby cousin is sooooo cute! Just love those little earrings. That kitten is too adorable, too. She's so UNIQUE looking! I wonder if she's as crazy as my kitten. They look to be about the same age. Mine's a bobtail. Fun. :sad2:

Ginny: I'm so glad that Austin is going to get his hair cut. Booty shop lady must have been reading on here and discovered she might lose some paying customers! Have a great weekend! Love you.

I just got home from work and waiting for Don. He had to work overtime again today. We plan on leaving at 4 to make that drive.

D- Welcome back. Loved your mini report and very pleased you chose my thread to post it on. Thank you. It looks like you went to a nice place since you didn't come to see me. :sad2:

We are a friendly open group and love to have imput from everyone.

Thanks for those kind words Mel. So sweet you are.

So I better get ready to go watch football. My fav sport. College is the best but right now I'll settle for my #52 out there.

Have a great weekend.
